Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that your finger is less sore after your lancing the whitlow - just be careful now that it doesn't get infected.
The situation with Froome puts me in mind of that of Zola Budd, going back to the 1984 Olympic games.
If I am remembering correctly, Zola Budd was South - African born, but applied for British citizenship - on the grounds that her grandfather was British - in order to get round the international sporting boycott of South Africa, so that she could compete in the 1984 Summer Olympics in L.A.
She did compete for GB - she was always running barefoot, if you recall? - but then in 1992, she was back competing again in the Olympics for South Africa.
I think she was a middle- and long- distance runner?
It isn't an exact parallel to Chris Fromme's case, but similar enough to warrant a mention.
As you said about Froome......Zola's was also a career move.
And taking note of which side of the bread was buttered!
