Good morning, Elle!
Very cold today.
Minus something outside.
The tale of Maggie and the painter is true!
Mind, it does not take much to baffle me!
I have to wait until vacuum filters dry out until I replace them.
Then try out the cleaner.
I have read that Henry vacuums do an excellent job?
Hope you enjoy lunch!

Good day, Rosalind,
Our town gets plagued with travelers too from time to time.
The mess they leave for others to clean, is sickening.
I am sure there must an answer.
If you run out of paint, I hear Maggie is all the rage!

Hello, Elle!
My painter uses MacPhersons paints.
So now we know Maggie's surname.
Maggie MacPherson.
Sounds like a real Highlander!

Someone gave my a Dyson, Rusty. Best vacuum cleaner I have ever had.
Yep, could always paint with Maggie. 5 litres should be enough for 2 and a half walls, though. Ceiling is sail white.

Good morning, Rusty!
Bitter cold here! I went out well layered up this morning!
I enjoyed the walk though. It was great to be out so early in the sunshine!
I hope you can restore your own vacuum cleaner to its former glory?
At the risk of offending any one reading this who owns a Henry, I think they are awful!!
They are the pull-along- behind- you type, which I dislike, preferring the -sit-up- and -beg ones that you push along in front of you!
I have had a lot of bad experiences with various Henrys as there have been varying models over the years in the house we rent when we go to Pakefield.
I don't find them very efficient. To me, they make cleaning very hard work!
I can recommend a Dyson though!.
(No, I don't have shares in the company!)
Maggie MacPherson! I like that!

I hadn't used my Vacuum cleaner for ages so I sold it on e-Bay - it was just gathering dust ;-)

...the winner of last year's best joke, maybe at the Edinburgh Fringe? It's still funny!

Hello, Elle and Rosalind!
I shall forget about Henry, so!
I'll see how I get on with the filters in this machine.
A Tesco Multi-cyclone, I think it is. Was a cheapie.
I still have my Which trial, so will look at their reviews.
I have a notion that a Miele gets highest marks from them but costs far too much.
Bright and dry here, whatever happened to Winter!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I enjoyed lunch- and the catch up chat!
A pleasant venue - it might be interesting to try it for dinner one evening.
So far I have only lunched there on a few occasions.
What have you been up to today? Have you finished your clearing out now?
You are beginning to make me feel guilty..... I know that I need to do some sorting ....especially with my books - all my bookshelves are double deep in books and there is nowhere at all to put my latest acquisitions!
I have yet to do today's crosswords........ I shall make a coffee and start on the Times QC!
Have you had time to do your crossword yet?
Oh nearly forgot to ask...how is your vacuum cleaner? is it working now?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Yes, try the venue one evening.
I am sure there are many good restaurants in your area.
I have just to get rid of the Wendy House and that should nearly finish my slinging out.
Miss Around the World is coming to see me this evening.
I have reassembled the vacuum cleaner and it is much better.
Not perfect, but it will do at present, at least until the painter and Maggie have finished.
Crossword complete. My only moan is the setter appears to thing that sought and sort are homophones of each other.
Not up here they are not!
My wardrobe arrives tomorrow.
Will be good fun putting it together!

Rusty, I too disliked (and resented) the assumption that Sought sounds like Sort.

I came across a clue for Elle in today's Times crossword ...
13 A. Tudor composer, and how he travelled from London to Lincoln? (4)

There was one too for Chris...

20 A. What a druggy may smoke in front of this northern plant (4-4).

I'd have like a clue for Pigale and perhaps Rosalind, but didn't see anything pertinent.
