Hi, Rusty!
Did you enjoy your walk? How far did you go? Did the sun show its face?
I haven't done much at all today - the extent of my exertions was to wash my hair!
My husband got up at lunchtime, and seems no worse for his ordeal, other than having been greatly worried and tired.
I was flummoxed on reading the blurb that came with the antihistamines he has to take - it says that a side effect of the medication could be a "puffy face"!
Younger daughter just rang on her way home from work. The "now four year old" has been home today (with his dad) - he has gone down with a cough.
At last he didn't get the cough from either of us - we didn't see them at the weekend to avoid such a contingency happening!
Well, time to sort out dinner - we are having chilli con carne.

Hello, Elle!
I think you are spreading your cold to the four winds!
I have a bit of a sniffle, now!
My walk was fine, though I think everyone was at home, as I had the park to myself.
Good to hear your husband is on the mend!
I think the drug companies put these things on the leaflet to hopefully cover themself against all eventualities.
I am reasonably sure that I have seen "death" as a side effect of a medicine.
I had two plates of my own soup for my tea.
Lentil, carrot, and bacon. And oatcakes and coffee for afters!
Living like a king, up here!

Hi, Rusty!
Your tea sounds delicious! There is nothing to beat home-made soup! and I love oatcakes.
I have to admit I am feeling weary! this eternal coughing is exhausting - and giving me such a headache!
Sorry to moan......I am well aware that I am not the only one suffering - there are an awful lot of poor people about, also feeling lousy from this nasty bug! They have my sympathy!
I could just do with winding on the clock for a few days......till I hit a cough-free zone!
I'm even restless with reading.
I've just found a couple of old crosswords I'd forgotten about ...maybe I will do those.......

Hello, Elle.
I make most of my food in slow cooker.
I am a fan!
Colds and coughs are a pesky nuisance, but....rather them than other ailments.
My eyes are dry and watery at the same time!
Why not purchase a book of crosswords for when you run out?
Loads of Times Cryptic Jumbo ones on Amazon.
I think there are 100 in each book.
I follow David Walliams (BGT) on Twitter, and he tweeted a letter a wee boy had sent him. It seems the wee boy was at one of the auditions lately and was writing to David to thank him for the great day out he had, meeting Ant and Dec etc.
And he finished with a
PS
"Why is it only Simon Cowell who sits on a cushion?"
Made me chuckle!

Hi, Rusty!
You are right, of course, colds and coughs are a nuisance, but, yes, rather them than a more serious illness.
I feel ashamed of myself, now, for being so "feeble"!
I am going to make a hot drink and then go to bed - tomorrow is another ......and hopefully, a better......day!
I loved the bit about Simon Cowell!
G'night!

Good morning, Elle!
Not feeble at all!
You are just saying it as it is.
There will be thousands of us having a wee moan about coughs and colds at this time of year...it was ever thus.
Yes, David Walliams young fan is very perceptive about Simon Cowell!
It appears cold outside again!

Good Morning, Rusty!
Yes, it's very cold here too!
I have only stuck my nose out of the door into the garden, but everywhere is frosty, and the temperature is supposedly minus 2.
It has only just become light...but there is a faint glimmer of sun trying valiantly to get through.
I am waiting for my friends who are very kindly coming to collect the dog......she is watching for them out of the window!
I hope your "sniffle" hasn't developed into anything?

Good Morning, Elle!
Cold and icy here, too!
Looking forward to Sunday as it is going to be 10C up here!
Tropical!
My cold is not much at all.
Going to get my paper, now, and back quickly as I have a window blinds fitter arriving later.
All go!

Hi, Rusty!
The sun won its battle - it is now shining brightly, although I suspect it is still very cold! The frost did its job.......frozen mud equated clean dog! She arrived back home nearly spotless!
I am glad to hear that your cold isn't too bad. Funnily enough, I never had a cold, just the chest infection straight off.
Has your blind fitter arrived yet? or been and gone? Are these the ones for your bedroom?
When is the painter coming to do the room?
As you say, it's certainly all go!
I've done two crosswords , so I think now that I'd better get down to some household chores...like dusting and hoovering!

Hello everyone,

Hi Elle,

I must say that you are a very generous person indeed, sharing your cough with so many people - it has even reached me in France!

Luckily, it lost some of its strength en route and with the help of a special syrup, (one targeting bronchial type of coughs - my weak point -), I hope to keep it under control.

It was bound to happen and I hope the sub-zero temperatures we are having at present well all bacteria and viruses. Like Rusty, and probably yourself, we shall be back in double figures Saturday onwards - a couple of rainy days but sunshine otherwise.
