Well, I stayed in thick fog all day; it looked as though it would lift (or rather fall - it is a falling fog (?) around 1.30pm but by 2.30 it was back and it now looks well set for the night and tomorrow morning. Temps due to be minus 1C, so I feel sorry for the people who drive to work very early in the morning.

I agree with Elle, Rusty, cold and bright is better than this, and we need to have some cold weather in Winter - mind you our worse months here usually are January and first half of February.

Did your weather remain cold and sunny?

Hello, Elle,
From the frozen North!
Frost has not lifted today.
I had Frida to win or be placed (in first 3).
That is called an each way bet.
I have a small profit made because Frida was second.
Best you do not grasp the betting system.
It is designed to remove money from dreamers.
But I like the skiing. Next week the women race at Courchevel, which often hosts a TDF finish.
And Lindsey Vonn will be in the downhill!
I like her, especially since she got rid of Tiger!

Good evening, Pigale.
Your temperature is about the same as mine.
2C at best. Hard frost here all day.
We have rain forecast for tomorrow and milder weather coming later in the week.
So, not so bad!
It is icy pavements I do not like!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that you made a small profit! I know you only bet for fun, but good to have some return for your money!
Were Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods an item then? I didn't know that.
How was Miss ATW? Did you stay in or go out for a bacon roll to one of your familiar haunts?
I have been on the phone for ages...both daughters rang up, literally one after the other.
I thought at first that the second call must be younger daughter having forgotten something.
All the grandkids have been to see Father Christmas in their respective towns.
I've just received a super photo of the young one sitting on Santa's knee! Grandson looks very smug - Santa must have been promising him some super toys!
Tomorrow , I am determined to go shopping to try to finalise all my present buying.
I can but dream!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Lindsey and Tiger were an item.
I think she binned him.
No, Miss ATW was here just with a Christmas card, and had others to deliver.
The shops will be getting much busier from now, I reckon.
Best get out early!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, that is good advice!
My plan is to take out the dog as usual, which entails getting back home about 9.30 - 9.45 am.
Then I shall have to clean up said dog and feed her, before dressing more appropriately for a visit to Bromley - or maybe Croydon - not quite decided yet where to go!
I am working on my husband to accompany me - an extra pair of hands for carrying presents would go down well - so would the use of the car! He hates shopping though!!
Well....almost time for my hour-long chat with my cousin.....one of us rings about 9 o'clock!

Hello, Elle!
Your husband sounds like me!
I am too, not keen on shopping.
I will be home most of the day, keeping my joiner going in tea.
He does not like coffee!

I think I have my Christmas earworm!
"Little Drummer Boy".
I have been on YouTube listening to various versions of the song.
I think, only think, mind you, that I like the Boney M version best.
I liked the Cranberries version too, but that may be because I like Dolores O'Riordan's voice. I like Faith Hill, but her version was a bit so-so. And Bing was doing away fine until David Bowie joined in! Not tried Johnny Cash yet.
Do you have an opinion on the song?
Still dry here. Heavy rain forecast but no sign of it so far.

Hi, Rusty!
I like "The Little Drummer Boy" and I was under the impression that somewhere I have a version of just Bing singing it?
But I've quickly googled it and cannot find that anywhere?
However, when I have the time I shall have a look at my old records, tapes and CDs, to check, and will get back to you on that.
I might be mistaken?
But Bing does sing with quite a few folk and he still sounds great!
I have heard the Bing/ Bowie version and quite like it.
I don't know the Cranberries?
I'll still be singing this now, when going to bed..........what have you done....?
Can't get it out of my head.......

Of course, you have your joiner coming tomorrow.....I remember your having to buy tea for his last visit!
Disgusting stuff! I never drink it!

I am planning to go out again straight after the dog walk, tomorrow morning.
I should be back - with any luck - by mid -afternoon!
In the meantime, I hope all goes well with the new door.....

Good morning, Elle!
Rain here!
Cranberries are an Irish band. "Linger" was quite a successful song they did.I have listened to more versions of Little Drummer Boy,
by Johnny Cash, Joan Baez, Emmylou, Vienna Boys Choir, etc and still prefer Boney M's version. Rum pum pum pum!
I think lead singer Liz Mitchell's personality has a lot to do with that.
I noticed at the end of the song she was balancing on very high heels and tapping her toes at the same time and still singing.
I was impressed. She must have a great sense of balance.
I have not heard Bing singing on his own.
Hope the shopping goes well!
Rum pum pum pum!

I think Bing sang "Little Drummer Boy" as a duet with David Bowie. I may be hallucinating that, though!
