Hello, Elle!
I would have thought a good downpour would cut the fireworks right down.
Kirsten is Dutch and the reigning world champion.
She is the biz!
In third just now with the points race to come.
Neah is 8th just now.
The race I'm looking forward to is tomorrow, when GB have Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker in the Madison.
Or as Katie calls it, "the holding hands race"!
They are an excellent pairing.
I always watch the Remembrance Service on television.
I am sure you will enjoy (if that's the correct word) the service and parade.
I have just had a crown come loose from my tooth!

Update, Elle!
After the elimination race (just finished) Kirsten is leading, Neah is up into 6th, with the points race to come.

Hi, Rusty!
Perhaps the noise of the fireworks would simply be worse, were it not raining?!
I consider myself normally a "kindly soul" (!).......but firework letters-off definitely bring out the worst in me!
Yes, I know the Madison......you sent me a video clip to watch.
I hope Katie and Elinor do well tomorrow.
I am looking forward to the Remembrance Service tomorrow morning ......
I think it "right and proper" that we still pay tribute to those who died so long ago.
I wonder though what they would think of our country in its present state of chaos?
Oh dear! Has the crown broken?
If it is still entire, the dentist may be able to put it back for you?

Hello, Elle!
All quiet here, now!
Katie and Elinor will go well.
But the selectors have an awful dilemma as to who they choose for Tokyo.
I would suspect they may choose Trotty and Elinor, but Katie is a powerhouse too, and young Emily Nelson is in the picture, too.
I'm glad I'm not a selector!
I like watching the Remembrance Parade, too.
No, the crown and pin are intact, as far as I can make out, so may just need to be glued back in, or whatever is it they do.
I think it happened before, a few years ago.

Hi, Rusty!
So how many cyclists constitute a "team"?
How many are allowed to go to the Olympic Games?
There will be "spares" surely?
Yes, I remember your previously losing a crown that was re-fixed successfully.
But my crowns do not have "pins"... the crown is fastened to the tooth underneath ?
Time for a hot drink before bed......
And the dog needs to be persuaded out into the garden in a firework "lull".....

Hello, Elle!
Kirsten Wild won!
And GB's Katy Marchant won the Keirin event.
The track cyclists are divided into two groups.
The sprinters, and the endurance riders.
Usually three sprinters for women, four for the men, and five in the endurance groups.
There will be special rules at the Olympics but I do not know what they are.
Some of these riders will ride more than one event, but it will depend on the schedule, of who rides what.
This bit of tooth has a pin in it.
Maybe it is called something else?

Update, Elle!
Here's Katie, Elinor, and Trotty, describing their team mates!
I had a chuckle, it is accurate!

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for the cycling results...well done, everyone!
And also for the update where the girls describe their team mates!
I found that very interesting, as I can now put faces and personalities to what were in some instances merely names!
It sounds then as though there is quite a lot of scope for selection into the Olympic team?
Now....crowns!
I found this link......
https://www.dentalhealth.org/crowns
I think what you have is called a "post crown", according to the article I have enclosed.
Well, I had better make one more (final) attempt to persuade the dog outside before bed...
She won't go, because the fireworks keep going off!

Hello, Elle!
Well now you know the women endurance riders!
And goodness, Trotty can't half giggle!
I'm looking forward to seeing Katie and Elinor in the Madison tomorrow!
I am taking my car to garage on Monday and my dentist is a five minute walk from there, so with a bit of luck I may get it fixed then.
Possibly!
I'll phone them first, though.
