Hello, Elle!
It is cooler this evening, I think.
I am careful on the roof, but there is a roofer coming who will do most of the work, or maybe all of it!
You have done well getting a good place for your holiday.
Maybe best leave the camping holiday until next year.
I am very pleased my Chromebook is fine now.
I really like it. It is a Toshiba make, and I do not think they make them any more.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it is cooler here, too.
We have had a number of severe rainstorms.......
It became so dark, I had the lights on in the mid-afternoon.
Yes, I'm pleased about the holiday booking, and the house owner and I have had a few pleasant email chats!
Did you find time to do your crossword?
My favourite clues were
21a: not withstanding; 23a: Pimlico; 7d: image; and 9d: I don't mind if I do.
But I am stuck on
17a: How stamps can be posted - about five pairs with article (2,6)
S?/ T?N?N?
20d: Horse eating tip of Yew was in agony (6)
?T?W?D
I think that the letters are correct.
What am I not seeing here, please?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I did my puzzle online this morning.
No paper today.
17, is new to me.
I went for "se tenant",
sent around ten (5 pairs) and "a".
20 A horse is a "steed", Elle.
Tip of Ye"W".
Stewed, apparently means agony!
There were several good clues today.
I am going to buy a paper tomorrow.
Much better than online!

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you for your help...
But I am sorry, I do not understand what "se tenant" means?
I can see how you have reached it, but what does it mean, and what is the definition?
And I can also follow how to arrive at "stewed"......but I didn't know it could mean "agony"?
I've never heard of that.....
I've heard of "leaving someone to stew"......but I thought it meant leaving them alone for a while to worry about something?
And I think "stewed" - apart from being a cooking term -
can also mean "drunk"?
No wonder I could not do either clue!
Yes, it is definitely chilly this evening,

Hello, Elle!
I do not have the puzzle, but from memory the definition is "how stamps can be" and solution is "se tenant", which means (I think), stamps on one sheet with different values.
Have a look in Collins or Chambers, and Anne Bradford has it too.
I agree about "stewed", but it could well be perfectly OK.
These setters are very clever lads/lasses.
I think it is chilly, too!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a bright sunny day, but decidedly nippy this morning!
Surely not an Autumnal chill already?
Thank you for explaining about "se tenant"...and for the link.
This is not a term I have ever come across....however did you know that?
I am very impressed!
Now for a coffee and to tackle today's crossword!
I hope your roofer comes this morning....and I hope you have a fine day for doing the repairs!

Good morning, Elle!
Lovely morning but quite a bit cooler, I think?
"Fiddler" won't manage to attend my roof today.
He has emergency jobs first.
Suits me fine, as I am a bit ramfeezled after yesterday's efforts.
I did not know "se tenant", but worked it out from the clue and pondered upon it, then confirmed it with Mr Collins!
It's a phrase that is completely new to me.
I am ahead of you today!
Puzzle completed earlier!

Hi, Rusty!
So, no Topol today.......
What do you have planned instead?
We have to take the dog to the Groomers for 1.30......she will hate that!
She prefers being dirty and scruffy!
"Ramfeezled" is a new one to me!
Another one for my little black book?
I'm guessing it means "knackered"?
I wonder if I can introduce it into the conversation, when in the park tomorrow.......
I haven't accessed the crossword yet......the printer is playing up!

Hello, Elle!
Topol turned up and fixed the roof!
Another wee job ticked off.
Your poor dog!
"Ramfeezled" and "quanked" mean exhausted.
Put them in your wee book.
Hope your printer works.
It is a good puzzle today!
Unfortunately, no new words, though!
