A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is sunny, but still very blustery, here!
My daughter arrived home yesterday, from her holiday, to find her apple tree had blown down!
Luckily all our trees here are still standing......
We have had a nice walk.......very fresh and invigorating....and not quite such a battle against the wind, as it was yesterday.
We are (more or less) in now for the day!
Athletics at 1.30 pm!
We have quite a good showing of younger athletes coming along.... it is good to see them in action!

Hi, Rusty!
How are you?
How are things going?
I watched some of the Athletics.....but three days running is a tad too much viewing for me.....I get a headache.....
I left the recorder on and went out with the dog for a while....the wind is lessening.
I shall watch the remainder of the Athletics events later, at my leisure.
Now... update....I have spoken to a couple of the holiday property letting agencies.......but no luck......
No one so far wants the cat!
Another couple I can try...but not until tomorrow as their phone lines are closed today.
Ah well.....

Hello, Elle!
I have not had my TV on today.
I am not a good viewer either!
Doing wee jobs about the house today.
I think you will struggle getting a place who'll take a cat, but fingers crossed.
is there no where you can place the cat until you return from Swanage?
My sons do it with their dogs.
They go to a kennels.

Good evening, Rusty!
I usually only watch the TV in very small doses......except for Wimbledon fortnight!
But then I do suffer the consequences!
I did watch the 4 x 400m relays at the end of the Championships...
It was most unfortunate that, due to a bad administrative error, the GB and NI Men's team was unable to compete, because the wrong name had been entered for the lead- off relay runner. so they officially "Did Not Start".
It was a costly mistake, as we ended up in fifth place on the Points Table , whereas we should probably have been placed third.
The Men's Relay team must have been devastated.
I'm sure a head will roll, somewhere!
Now, the cat......
We have been spoilt over the years, because. up till now, we have always been able to take all the animals (barring the goldfish, who goes to my neighbour! ) on holiday with us.
We have stayed in both Swanage and Pakefield on a regular basis, and always in the same houses.....but sadly for us, these properties have been sold and are no longer holidays lets.
Hence my trying to find alternative accommodation....
Usually if I can contact an owner directly, he /she will agree to letting the cat(s) - and the dog, of course - go, too...…
But Agencies seem to apply a blanket "No Cats " policy.
My one remaining cat (we had four) is now elderly, and is also disabled.....and, as you know, he has recently been very ill (altho ok for now).
But no, I will not leave him ......
If he doesn't come........we don't go!

Good evening, Elle!
It seems you have a problem, with the cat, Elle.
You are 'phoning folk to morrow, though?
Things do change.
What was fine years ago is not available now.
That's the way of the World!
Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

I know it's academic, but whatever do letting agencies have against cats? Possible fleas?
It seems such a shame not to have a holiday because you love animals.

Hi, Rusty!
It's not a major problem, anyway, Rusty!
I am not too worried whether or not we go away on holiday.
We get plenty of fresh air and exercise as it is at home!
It was just that I thought some sea breezes - and a nostalgic trip down Memory Lane - would be nice.
Have you re -organised another day to go to the Pine Cone with your granddaughters?
It was a pity that you couldn't make it today, but it will be something to which to look forward during the week.
BB and I are plotting for him to come and stay with us for few days!
I might need to polish up my football skills?

Hello, Ros!
Yes, it does seem a somewhat silly distinction.
And I doubt it's fleas...dogs can get fleas too, yet they seem to be welcome in some holiday accommodation.
Perhaps they are afraid the cats might scratch?
But I have taken my various cats away for years without any problems whatsoever....indeed they have been welcomed back to the same premises again and again.
And the house owner could ask for a deposit against potential damage.
But it's no big deal, we shall just stay at home if necessary.

Hello, Elle!
Your holiday sounds like a good idea.
Let's hope it comes off.
I'll see the girls later on.
May know a bit more tomorrow, about when we can all be free to go out.
Yes, BB will like that!
Is it definite?

As you say, the owners could ask for a deposit, and even supply a scratching post (if they work, never having had a cat I wouldn't know). Seems to me there's a business opportunity there!

Hi Rusty!
Yes, it is definite that BB will be staying with us for a few days, but the dates have yet to be decided.
His dad goes back to school about ten days before BB does, so there will be a need for child care over that period.......
For some inexplicable reason, the Holiday Clubs do not operate over the last week of the school holidays.
My daughter and I will probably share it...she will take a few days off work...and for the rest of the time, BB will stay here.
It will be fun!
