Hi, Rusty!
That is a useful accomplishment for your son to have, and nice of him to help you out.
We find there are forever small (and larger!) jobs that need doing around the house and once upon a time we would tackle most things ourselves.....
But time is catching up with us and we often look to the experts to fix things nowadays!
Our younger daughter has just texted.....they will be home tomorrow!
That will be good... I have missed her!

Good morning, Elle!
It's a bit cloudy but dry, though I don't think rain is far away!
Yes, my son is a multi-talented lad.
They both are, in fact.
You can't beat the experts though.
I have a wee list of tradesmen that I can depend on.
Did your daughter see anywhere for your holiday?

Good morning, Rusty!
I awoke to a beautiful sunny day...and since then it has been raining heavily, intermittently..... cats, dogs and pink elephants!
It was a cagoule and wellies walk!
It is a good job that the European Team Championships are coming from Poland...at least the weather may be better there.
I am looking forward to watching the Athletics later.
My daughter is only driving back home this afternoon.
I don't know whether or not she has had chance to check the locality of the holiday homes......
I expect we shall catch up tomorrow, so I may know more then.
Do you have any plans for today?

Hello, Elle!
It is a fine breezy day here....so far!
No plans today.
I was busyish this morning.
Did not buy a paper, which is most unusual for me!
I had one or two wee jobs about the house to do.
Now I'm doing my puzzle on-line.
I much prefer paper!

Hi, Rusty!
It has brightened up at the moment and the sun is trying to shine.
Yes, I, too, much prefer doing a crossword with pencil and paper.
Mind you, I rarely have an alternative (unless I am doing an online Guardian puzzle ) as John sends me daily Times screen shots, which I then need to print out.
I have finished today's puzzle, in that I have a completed grid...but still have a number of clues to parse more fully.
I had a text from my daughter earlier.......she should be on her home now......
Athletics to watch at 2.30!

Hello, Elle!
Lovely day here now.
A paper puzzle is much better.
I used to copy one or two when I had a printer.
Just do The Times now.
The forum is quiet today.
Only nine threads have been visited by three o'clock.
Not very good!

Hello, Cerasus,
One of the AB stalwarts said a couple of weeks ago that they are getting less crossword queries now.
Though, they do get much more than this forum does.

Hello Rusty
Yes, there have also been several new sites where full answers have been given to a lot of the more popular crosswords - a sad state of affairs

Hello, Cerasus,
I did not know that.
I do look in on AB but rarely to the crossword section.
Some good solvers over there!
