Hello, Elle!
Still hammering down here.
I feel sorry for the Women's Tour of Scotland bike race which is starting from Dundee today and heading to Dunfermline.
They will be soaked! (Hopefully, no crashes!)
Yes, condensation will cause damp.
Is the plaster affected?
Have you thought of putting a dehumidifier in the room to help dry things out?
Your builder will keep you right as regards that, though.
Puzzle complete!

Hi, Rusty!
It is now sunshining here, with a blue sky....... "April" weather!
Yes, but just a very small area - about three foot by two foot - where the plaster needs to be hacked out and replaced.
It is right by the c/h boiler and has pipes running nearby.
The room is large and there is no sign of damp elsewhere....it is just localised next to the boiler.
I am wondering if lagging the pipe might help......but I am sure our builder friend will advise what is best to do.
The builders are going to repaper that section afterwards.
Now...I am puzzled....
I have my new TV guide here.......and I see that Days Two and Three of the European Team Championships are respectively being shown on Saturday and Sunday........
But where is the coverage for Day One???
I cannot find it anywhere?

Hello, Elle!
Still heavy rain here.
Yes, your builder will keep you right.
The coverage for European Team Championships for Day One is on BBC Red Button 1, at 17.30 today.
Does your TV Guide not show Red Button programmes?

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, thank you!
I didn't think of the Championships being on the Red Button!
No, my TV guide does not show Red Button programmes?
And if I hadn't seen that Days 2 and 3 were being shown tomorrow and Sunday, I wouldn't have thought to search for Day One.....
And would consequently have missed it!
That seems a tad disorganised on the part of the BBC?

Hello, Elle!
Heavy rain here!
I use the BBC text service regularly and it drastically needs an overhaul.
There are "news" stories on it which are several days old etc.
It is archaic in this day and age.
The women's bike race has been abandoned in Fife.
Wild weather and very bad road conditions the police say.
A pity, but I think the riders will be pleased!

Good evening, Rusty!
A pity about the women's cycle race in Fife having to be cancelled, but probably a wise move.
It is best to avoid any potential dangers.
We have a very boisterous wind here... I think it is perhaps holding more rain at bay.
I took the dog out for a walk earlier, and could hardly stay on my feet!
Then we had a power cut!
The electricity has only just come back on....fortunately just about in time for me to watch the Athletics on the Red Button.
Are you watching?

Hello Elle, Rusty and everyone,

How are you all faring with your wild weather?

I believe it is rather windy on the Normandy/Channel coast line
but certainly not as much as in the UK I don't think.

Here, all is warm and quiet -

Hello, Elle!
Still pretty wild here.
Yes, the women are starting from Glasgow tomorrow.
Hope the weather improves.
I read earlier that a lot of folk have been affected by power cuts.
None here!
No athletics for me, I have been doing a bit of prep work before my son arrives next week to "fix" my window.
And there is a football match on TV.
One of our local teams is playing.

Hi, Rusty!
It is raining very heavily here! Absolutely pelting down!
I enjoyed the Athletics......mainly heats tonight.
I shall look forward to Day Two tomorrow afternoon, then showing on BBC2.
And I have recorded "Eggheads" so will watch that shortly.
Didn't your son do some work on your windows a while back?
It is good that he is able to help you.
Enjoy your football match!

Hello, Pigale!
Yes, some surprisingly rough weather around us.
Usually , we tend to come off quite lightly here in our area.
Heavy rain off and on..... and boisterous winds this afternoon.
We even had a power cut!

Hello, Elle!
My son is a time served glazier so that comes in handy.
Yes, he worked on another window not long ago.
He no longer works at the trade, but does wee jobs to keep his hand in.
I do not know when he is coming though.
