Hi, Rusty!
I am back home now....
It has hotted up outside.....I think today will be nearer to yesterday's high of 28C, rather than the prophesied 22C!
According to the schedule I have before me, Sloane is to play Jo Konta at 2.15.....but then the times do not always run true.
Will this bring up a division of loyalties ? Whom will you support?
Harriet Dart (British) plays Ash Barty
Rafa is to play Jo - Wilfried Tsonga, and Roger to play Lucas Pouille, later this afternoon.
But I expect your attention might be taken up by the Tour de France, rather than the tennis?
Or you can channel hop?

Hello, Elle!
It is impossible to predict the times at Wimbledon.
Oh, the Tour is my priority, and there is a race at Sandown I'd like to see, and the golf!
Tricky with Sloane and Jo!
I like both of them, and what will be will be!
I hope to see them play, though.
Paddy P has Jo favourite.
Alesha Dixon was on Breakfast BBC the other day, and was saying that the old pensioner has got a record deal with Decca and Simon Cowell's company.
I wonder?!!

Hi, Rusty!
You are set for a busy day......juggling all your favourite sports!
At least I only have the tennis with which to keep apace.
Now....tomorrow, the BBC is showing Highlights of the Diamond League at Lausanne....
Will this mean that the live version will be on your TV set up earlier?
Perhaps today?
I'm just letting you know in case you hadn't noticed the DL being advertised?
And might want to watch it?
Was the record deal a part of the pensioner's prize?
Pleasant though the old gentleman seems to be, I cannot imagine his record selling to many?

Hello, Elle!
Just home from Pine Cone!
The Diamond League from Lausanne was on EuroSport last night, but I did not watch it.
I was watching Coco at Wimbledon.
No, the record deal is not part of the prize.
I think the winner gets £250,000?
It's the Simon Cowell bit that is odd!
I agree, nobody is going to buy a record of the old lad.
He was a decent enough singer, though.
Alesha seems to like him, anyway.
But, who knows, Susan Boyle did very well after coming second on the show.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh, that was nice going out to the Pine Cone.....with which granddaughter(s) did you go today?
And speaking of grandchildren, how is your grandson getting on with his new house?
Has he got it all sorted now?
Or is it an ongoing project?
Our house - a (decrepit) Victorian villa - seems to be permanently undergoing needed renovation!
It's a good job we have been good at DIY over the years!
Time for some tennis?

Hello Elle and Rusty!

Watched (of course!) the first stage of the Tour!
Shame that Peter Sagan just missed the Yellow Jersey on Day 1!
He was so close to getting it. Anyway, that"s Le Tour I suppose
and it is very early days!

There are so many new names in the French Teams (and elsewhere)!
I have not heard of a lot of them! Are they all youngsters? Admittedly
I don't keep up with cycling regularly apart from the Tour de France!

Hot hot here, again! and very close and humid - not nice;

How are you both?

Hello, Elle!
No granddaughters today.
I was with my grandson and his girl.
The house is coming on great, apparently.
Saw my old hero, Eddy Merckx, presenting the jerseys at the end of the Tour stage!
Green for Sagan, who was second.
Enormous crowds in Brussels.
I saw the last set between Sloane and Jo.
A worthy winner!
Wonder if Sloane is playing doubles?

Hello, Pigale!
Hope you are well?
It is fine weather here, and not too hot!
I actually thought Sagan had won, but the photo proved me wrong!
Pity the crash held up so many riders, but I don't think there was any serious injuries.
There are many new names in the Tour.
The Tour favourite to win, Egan Bernal, is just a young rider.
Maybe too young, for such a hard race?

Good evening, Rusty!
I am glad you are enjoying Le Tour.
Yes, it's great to see one's old heroes, like Eddy Merckx, again.....
I am always pleased when spying a known face in the crowd at Wimbledon!
There were quite a number of known "celebrities" that I recognised today....
Mo Farah, Chris Hoy, Rod Laver, Billie Jean King, Amalie Mauresmo, Martina Navratilova.... and I thought I saw Ann Jones, but the camera moved on so quickly that I wasn't sure!
I was glad to see Jo Konta go through to the next round...altho at first I thought she wasn't going to make it, but she recovered superbly.
No, I don't think that Sloane is playing in the Doubles , Rusty... I could be wrong, but I don't recall seeing her name?
I watched Rafa and Roger...both of whom won their matches!
Dan Evans has run into trouble and it is now one set all......
Andy Murray and his partner lost the Men's Doubles.
I think he comes on court next to play the Mixed Doubles with Serena.
I have had a surfeit of TV... I shall take a break ...and then I want to watch "The Voice" at 8pm.
I need to watch it, as I am recording "Casualty", which shows at the same time

Hello, Pigale!
I see that, like Rusty, you are watching Le Tour!
I do so hate their crashes!
I am fine, thank you!
I was a bit rough yesterday, as I had a migraine........but I am okay today.
It has been another warm day.....we have all the fans going!

Yes Rusty, I too fear Egan Bernal might be just that bit young for
Le Tour - I hope for his sake that we are proven wrong! We'll see
in the mountains ....
He was, up to very recently, totally unknown to the French public -
but then a few days ago, the Press started to tell his story.

Elle, I am glad your migraine did not last long - did you many tennis
matches?

Here too we have all the ceiling fans going, plus the portable one
and shutters/windows are still closed.

With this stupid difference of 2 hours with the sun (for us, only one
for you in the UK) we have to wait until 8 or 9 pm to feel a real
difference in the heat. A nuisance as far as I am concerned, particularly as I don't really enjoy very long evenings! To me, at 10pm, it should be dark!
But that's me!
