Hi, Rusty!
Have you seen Jack Nicklaus?
I know you have been looking out for him!
He is on Centre Court in the Royal box...he was watching Rafa play, when I spotted him.
Well, Rafa is safely through.... a very good match against Sousa...... some excellent tennis.
Serena Williams, and Elina Svitolina are also through.
Karolina Pliskova is battling hard, though, against Karolina Muchova......either one could win!
When this match is finished, I shall switch over and watch Jo!
Yes, I have my fingers crossed for Sagan.....

Hello, Elle!
No, I have not seen Jack.
Glad he made it over, though.
How was he looking?
Seen Steve Redgrave.
I have only seen Jo playing up to now.
Had le Tour on.

Good evening, Rusty!
I hope Le Tour is going well?
How are Pete Sagan and Mike Teunissen doing?
It is a pity that the cycling and tennis clash..... you will have missed some superb tennis play.....
In the "battle of the Karolinas", the underdog, Muchova, succeeded in beating the Number 3 seed, Pliskova!
An enthralling, marvellously played match!
Jo Konta won against Petra Kvitova, the number 6 seed, so is also now through to the Quarter final.
But Simona Halep made reasonably short work of young Coco.
I had thought that might happen!
Novak won his match...and Roger has just started to play on Centre Court......
I saw Jack Nicklaus three times.....he was sat, I think, with his wife?
He looked fine to me...obviously enjoying the tennis.
Yes, I, too, saw Steve Redgrave.
Pippa Middleton was there as well.
Back to watching Roger......

Hello, Elle!
Teunissen got dropped and lost the yellow jersey.
Today's winner was Julian Alaphilippe, (Pigale will be pleased!).
A Frenchman winning the first stage in France and claiming the yellow jersey.
He rode a super race, with an attack not far from the finish.
He went clear on his own on the last hill.
He has had a very good season.
Sagan came in about 5th or 6th.
He is in the green jersey.
I saw the last set of Jo's win.
She done well.
Maybe I'll see Jack tomorrow!
His wife, Barbara, is a tallish blonde lady?

Hi, Rusty!
It has been a good day...... both with the cycling...and with the tennis!
I am tired ...I have 'played' too hard!
I swear I hit every stroke along with Jo!
Sorry, I cannot remember what the lady accompanying Jack Nicklaus looked like?
And she was sitting down, anyway, so I wouldn't know if she was tall?
They were obviously together, as they were smiling and talking.
Raonic and Pella are still playing the fifth and final set....even stevens......
I have had enough...the box is now being switched off!
I shall be "square-eyed" as the saying goes!
Time for a much needed coffee.....

Hello, Elle!
I find tele-viewing hard work!
Jack likes tennis.
The Open is next week at Portrush.
Wonder if he will stay for it?
I am fairly certain that it would be Barbara that was with him.
My TV is off until tomorrow, too.
I am reading my book now.

Hi, Rusty!
Normally, I watch very little television.....just the occasional programme that interests me.....and of course the odd bout of athletics or a tennis match.
But I love Wimbledon fortnight! and I do try to watch a lot of the matches!
I know I shouldn't.... and that too much viewing might bring on a migraine.....
But hey, it's only two weeks in the year!
It is my "treat" to myself!
It would seem likely that Jack might go to Ireland for the Open, seeing as he is over here anyway?
Will you watch it? You will probably find out whether he attends?
What book are you reading?

Hello, Elle!
I looked in the nest earlier and there was nobody home!
I find TV tiring.
Could be that Jack is working at the Open for one of the TV companies.
Yes, I am looking forward to the Open.
My Norn Iron friends have a caravan at Portrush but they are in Turkey.
They go away at this time every year, as do many over there.
Now, believe it or not, my book is a novel.
And apart from James Michener, I almost never read novels.
"The Secret Life and Strange Death of Miss Jean Milne", by Andrew Nicoll.
It is a factual story made into a novel.
I know a lot about the facts.
I am about a third of the way through it and it is good!

Update, Elle!
I have just looked at the book and I've told you the wrong blooming title!
"The Secret Life and Curious Death of Miss Jean Milne"!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, that is certainly unusual for you to be reading a novel.......
But you say it is based on a factual story, so presumably does not stray far from the "truth"?
How did you come to learn the "facts" of the matter......and then come across the book, telling a "story"?
I have not heard before of the author, Andrew Nicoll?
