Good evening, Rusty!
Did you watch Cori Gauff beat Venus Williams in two straight sets?
A fifteen year old against her great idol!
What a match!
Cori played superbly!
It was so nice to see Venus take her defeat so graciously, and speak so kindly to the young girl.
A few upsets today...the men lost seeds five and six......
Dimitrov went out....and young Tsitsipas lost his match, too.
Monfils retired injured.
I don't know Putintseva, but she did well to beat Osaka.
(I have a feeling I didn't like Osaka for some reason?)

Hello, Chris!
How is your sister?

Thanks for your interest, elle - not good, I'm afraid. She can't take in any solids, so is basically malnourished. No strength at all.

The better news is that their house is being fitted with the equipment to support her at home, possibly as soon as tomorrow (though the hospice was a lovely environment too - we were very impressed, and intend to make a contribution).

I'm so sorry to hear that, Chris.
You must all be dreadfully upset and worried, but at least she will be at home.
Presumably that is what she wants and maybe the home environment will help.
It sounds as though your local services are very efficient in fitting out the house so quickly to suit her needs,
I hope all goes smoothly.

Thanks again, elle. Yes, we hope that it works out, for the time being, at least. Her husband has been a real tower of strength for her. We feel for him, too.

Hello, Elle!
No, I did not see Cori.
I went looking on YouTube for her game, but it is not up yet.
I saw her interview, though.
A very impressive young lady!
Osaka towered above Putintseva.
She seems a bit of a sour face.
Putintseva reminded me a bit of Maureen Connolly.
Going back a bit, in time, there!
Sloane Stephens is playing at 11 o'clock tomorrow, so I'll watch that and perhaps see Jo Konta later in the day.

Good morning, Rusty!
We have another lovely day here...still warm, but with a light refreshing breeze!
Perfect!
I am only just home from my walk.....
I cannot remember "Little Mo", although obviously I have since heard all about her.
Her tennis career was brilliant, but short, wasn't it, because she had a bad riding accident?
I wonder why she was called "little" ?
She was 5ft 5in...... a half inch taller than I am!
Yes, I hope to catch Jo's match......and Roger is playing this afternoon, too...2.30, I think?
I shall watch that!

Good morning, Elle!
It has turned into a fine morning here!
Maureen was a super player.
Yes, unfortunately she got hit by a cement truck when out riding her horse and her leg was very badly damaged, and she never played again.
I think she was only twenty when that happened.
She died young too, in her mid thirties, I think.
She's the best woman player I have seen.
Just watching Sloane now.
She is up 5-1 in first set.

Hi, Rusty!
I see from my computer that Sloane won her match!
You will be very pleased!
The BBC was not showing her match?
Leastways, I couldn't find it...
I have been watching two Brits...Dan Evans and Harriet Dart both win their respective Singles matches.
I had to channel hop!
The Women's match was a very closely fought fight...
Well done to Harriet!
Angie Kerber is now playing Tatjana Maria on Centre Court.
Roger Federer's match follows this.....
Ash Barty, Jo Konta and Rafa Nadal all follow each other on Court No One...
I shall be spoilt for choice as to whom to watch!
A busy afternoon!!
(Oops! sorry, dog...I'm afraid it's the garden only!)

Good afternoon, Elle!
What a lovely day!
Sloane's match was on Red Button.
When you visit Red Button channel, you then press Blue Button, which gives a choice of which match to watch.
There are 8 matches to choose from.
That's how it works for me, anyway.
I liked Sloane's opponent.
Her smile (or a big grin!) was never far away and I liked seeing that.
I am just home from a dander and have finished my puzzle.

Hi, Rusty!
No, it doesn't work like that for me!
You are very fortunate in having so many match choices.
This morning, I only had a choice of two matches....either the one being shown on BBC2 or the only one on the Red Button.
This afternoon, I could choose from three....either BBC1 or 2, or the ONE on the Red Button!
If I press the Blue Button, my menu only consists of three options, BBC1, BBC 2 or whichever (one) match is on the Red Button.
I don't know if there is ever an occasion when more Red Button options are offered, but certainly not so today!
I have been switching between Roger, Jo, and Cameron Norrie (another Brit).
Cameron and Jo have won their matches ...Roger is still playing!
I am writing this whilst his opponent has the physiotherapist on court....
Ah, play is resuming.......
Back to it now!
