Hello, Pigale!
No 30C here, I can assure you!
You make a good point though.
I have been in short sleeves for months!
A mild winter day for me is anything above freezing point!
And, what a wonderful invention fleeces were!
Warm, cheap, and cheerful!

Hi, Rusty!
The dog got a clean bill of health at the vets ; a check up plus vaccination, followed by a dog treat for being a good girl!
We are just having coffee, then will take her out for her (much delayed) walk.
It's now drizzling here, although certainly warmer than yesterday! (I think we all felt cold because of the big drop in temperature - it was the contrast that did it!)
Our nearest big park is being invaded yet again by gipsies/ travellers / pikeys/ call them what you will - so I think we shall avoid that one and go further afield. Maybe to the woods.
Have you been out yet? You say your 'dandering' has been neglected, so where do you plan to go today?
Re reading... I have a Sebastian Faulks (he of "Engleby" fame) to read - "A Week in December". I found it in a charity shop.
How are you and Father Flanagan getting along?
Walk calls....catch you later.......

Morning, Pigale!
You weren't alone in feeling the cold yesterday! I put our heating on for a time - and Jazzgirl mentioned that she had hers on, too!
I think it was the big difference between former temperature and yesterday's that made us all feel so cold! Our temp was almost halved!
We're going out now in the drizzle (!) to walk the dog! I hope you've got some sunshine?

Elle, well done the dog!
There is an odd spot of rain here, and not cold at all.
The travellers are a veritable blight on the landscape!
There are several encampments here.
North Korea would be the place for them!
I have not started on Father yet. I have a pile to start.
Maybe one or two more to ge,t then that will see me through the Winter.
"Chromebooks for Dummies" is on the agenda!

Not quite yet Elle, bright grey but you can feel the sun is not too far; should lift this afternoon. Similar weather throughout this week though getting better and better, and then from 1st August, we should be back in the 30s -

It was a shame for the rain yesterdat for the last of Le Tour, and also for the brocane in my village - so much effort had gone in the preparations. Still, what can we do?

I'm glad you seem to have grasped the essential of Cycling (in the Tour especially) - I think it is merely through watching that you will acquire further more knowledge; I never read any rules about it, but of course I was brought up with it in a way - hence there are some rules I only came to understand over the years.

One thing got sure, it is easier to understand than Cricket !!!!!

Hi, Rusty!
So the link I sent you about "Chromebook for Dummies" proved worthwhile? That's good!
My Hudl one is good, but I find I don't need half the info as I don't used those features.
Have you got "What's App" on your Hudl? A friend wants to send me photos and videos and, as my mobile doesn't do anything but ring, my daughter says that if I install "What's App" on the Hudl, then I can receive pics and videos there?
This is the link she sent to me
http://www.whatsappfor.org/android/whatsapp-tesco-hudl-tablet/
I had a request from Amazon to review "Somme" but I haven't read it yet. (Next on my list after the Faulks)
Have you been asked for your opinion like that? Do you usually give it?

Hi Elle,

I have only recently bought a book through Amazon, but on DVDs, and several other things I bought, they ask for an evaluation. On my Electric Piano (clavier), I was even asked to answer questions from someone who was thinking of buying the same model.

That's interesting, Pigale, as I've bought loads of things from Amazon and only once before do I recall being asked for a review - and that was for a book.
Sounds like a good idea though, especially if buying an expensive piece of equipment. Helps other people to make an informed decision.

Elle, I am a bit puzzled!
I did not know WhatsApp was available for Hudl?
It uses mobile phone numbers as far as I know, and there is no phone on Hudl. ???
But, listen to your daughter!
That said, I would not be without WhatsApp on my Samsung phone. It is brilliant.
I send many photos, and all free on WhatsApp.
All my young ones use WhatsApp when texting me.
Well, it is free for a year, then the cost is something like 80 pence per year.
Some of my family are going to USA later in the year, and all texts and photos will be absolutely free, both ways. Super!
WhatsApp, and the Cloud really impress me!
It is not available on Google Playstore.
Not sure why.
Neither is Adblock, I had to install it from an outside course then reconfigure the WiFi settings.
Bit of a scutter!
I think Amazon have asked me in the past.
If it was simple enough I would give an opinion, yes.
I have just been trying to disentangle myself from a £5 a month hike for BT Sport.
The site for doing so defeated me, so I emailed Libby Barr, head of BT Customer Relations, and asked her to do it for me! I am sure she is a fine lady and will accomplish it for me!
