Hello, Elle.
Yes, Froome deserved it, no question.
It is Team Sky I can't be doing with.
Too much secret technology in back rooms for me.
That is not cycling as I know it.
And they should have had a women's team competing, too. They said no to that! So Team Sky can take a hike, for me!
Yes, Elle, just a canny ride into Paris and the sprinters lead out trains take over.
Yes, La Course by the Tour de France takes place.
I hope Lizzie does well, but there are others I like too.
No Marianne Vos, still injured, but Emma Johansson, Ellie van Dyck, Giorgia Bronzini, and the great hope of France, Pauline Ferrand-Prevot.
Should be a great race!
I am looking forward to it!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, I don't know enough to comment on Team Sky - until a couple of weeks ago I knew next to nothing about competitive cycling ( and don' t know very much now, although I'm on a learning curve!)
Is it because you think they are too big and powerful that you don't like them? Maybe unfair competition because smaller (poorer?) companies may not have all the same mod cons at their disposal?
And what did you mean by 'secret technology ' in back rooms?
I'll lick this sport if I die in the attempt!!!!!

Both.
There is a lack of sporting spirit in Team Sky. Winning is everything, second place does not count.
The Sky boffins develop equipment, etc to produce "marginal gains". Money is not an object.
If it is not the best of the best, Sky wont touch it.
Even Sky and Team GB riders are not allowed access to the secret workshops etc. Sport?
Several years ago they wanted rid of Froome because he was an average rider. Nobody had heard of him. Now look at him. How did that happen?
And Froome is one of a number of top athletes who take asthma medicine. It allows them to breathe more efficiently. Is that sport?
Fascinating how so many of these athletes who need medication are at the top of their sports, dont you think?
And Brailsford and cohorts at British Cycling treated Victoria Pendleton dreadfully. Why?
She broke their rules! She fell in love with her coach, who was instantly sacked.
They are happily married now, no thanks to British Cycling! British Cycling had/have a rule, no falling in love with coaches or team management, or you are out.
These and other things are why I do not like Team Sky or Team GB and their activities.
Not the riders, the rest of the structure. It stinks!

Good morning, Rusty!
At the moment it is sunshining and appears set for another lovely day.... however, the forecast is poor and does not augur well for the third day of the Anniversary Games. We are supposed to be having rain throughout most of the day! Time will tell.....
How is it in your neck of the woods?
Yes, I remember your telling me before about Victoria Pendleton - a harsh ruling, and one where I am not sure I can see the logic behind it?
At least she is now happily married - and about to embark on a new career in horse-racing, isn't she?

Morning, Doglet!
How is your weekend going?
Have you been managing to watch the Athletics? and read your books in peace?!
Usain Bolt ran brilliantly didn't he? I don't think he needs to worry about being back on form!
It was good to see the pole vaulting going ahead yesterday if a day later because of the rain!
A wonderful performance from Lavillanie!
Enjoy today's games!
