Rusty, according to my daughter you can definitely install "What's App" on the Hudl. so I decided to have a go.......I clicked on the link she sent me .......
What a hoot!
It goes something like this.......

"....blah, blah.....
You will be presented with.....asking you to verify the app via a SIM message. THIS WILL NOT WORK as your tablet doe snot include a SIM card.
Enter a phone number where you can receive a voice call for the SIM verification phone number.
THIS HOWEVER WILL NOT WORK ....blah , blah......."

However, it does apparently get there in the end! when you've been round the block a few times!!
Do click on the link I gave you and read it for yourself!
I was almost hysterical by the time I'd read all of it!
I don't think I'm going to bother with it though - I'll be far too fraught by the time I've done all that !
I can receive photos and emails on my desk top anyway.

But about Adblock.... I didn't have any trouble installing that on my Hudl? it was quite straight forward and works a treat!

That's good about some of your family having the opportunity to go to the USA later in the year - apart from the fact that you will miss them very much, of course ( photos and videos are great but sadly no substitute)
Our eldest grandson was born in New York (I've probably told you?) They were there for three years.

Elle, a kerfuffle!
I may look later. I have kept your link.
I would definitely recommend WhatsApp, though.
Google Play won't stock Adblock and the like, anymore.
I have since uninstalled it.
it is installed on my browsers, Firefox, and Cheetah, anyway.
And, for what it's worth, Adblock are going to launch a browser of their own soon.
It may even be available now, in a beta version.
I have managed to get rid of BT Sport.
A very nice young man from Warrington phoned me and did it for me, in between explaining the rules of Rugby League football to me, and how much he enjoyed Portpatrick when he was at a wedding there, and how he loved the bagpipes!
We are friends for life!
Isn't it a wonderful world!

Rusty, you've lost me........ what have you been trying to download? with what are you "incompatible"?
(Have you been trying the link that I sent you about installing "What's app" on the Hudl?)
I had to laugh out loud at the thought of the conversation you must have had with the young man from Warrington.......... no wonder the girls won't let you talk to anyone while you are out together! you'd be coming home with half the population of Dundee!
Seriously though......yes, it is nice to talk to people....human contact makes the world go round!
Now, explain to me what you cannot download.........

Elle, I tried to install the WhatsApp link to my Hudl.
Not a chance! They are incompatible!
Was in and out of various sites and thought I had cracked it when it indicated it was downloading and then ....installed!
But, I could not find it anywhere.
It is not in "installed apps", so that is the end of that!
The young fellow was a great lad.
I would stand him a pint any time!
We both agreed Paul Scholes was a smashing player, too.
He asked me if I drank "Buckie"! And said he had never tasted haggis.
It is amazing. I usually dread these help centres, but the young man was a credit to his folk.
He even offered to cut the £5 charge to £2.50, but I refused politely.
Has your daughter got WhatsApp installed on her Hudl?

Rusty, thank you for trying to download the "What's App" - I was dreading the prospect of attempting it!
I'm sorry it was so troublesome! and unfortunately unsuccessful after all your effort!
My daughter phoned me just after I'd read your post so I asked her of she had it on her own Hudl. No, she hasn't, but she has it on her phone. She looked up the reference especially for my benefit, so that I could install it and thus receive my friend's photos etc. from said friend's own "What's App".
I told her about the trouble you had with it and she says she will see if she can suss it out and try to download it onto her Hudl, and get back to us.
(Her Hudl is the earlier version though - Hudle One - so she doesn't know whether that would do it anyway? but she i s going to try.)
Re Paul Scholes.......I didn't know you were a Manchester United supporter? I don't think Paul Scholes ever played for any other team?
P.S. I love haggis!

Elle, I am no lover of Man U!
Think it is the Fergie factor.
But I have always liked Scholes.
I don't go to games any more but have always supported my local teams.
WhatsApp!
Try it and see if it downloads?
It would not work for me!

Hi, Rusty!
I think I'll leave "What's App" well alone! the technology sounds well beyond me! I 'm getting out of my depth these days with all this modern technology - there was a time when I could keep up...but no longer.......it's almost a foreign language.
If I'm told once more that it is ' intuitive' to do something, I swear I'll scream!
Give me an instruction booklet any day!
I've been making arrangements with my elder daughter (in the Midlands) for her and the boys to come and stay next week, now that the school holidays have started.
It will be good to see them -I'll have to think up some interesting entertainment ideas for the boys!
Maybe the Science Museum?

Elle, guess what?
I found WhatsApp in downloads!
So, I followed instructions up to the point when it stated, "unable to connect to Google servers. Try later"
It had already phoned me with a six digit code etc.
So, I have not a Scooby what will happen now!
I have never been to the Science Museum, but that would be high up on my list of things to do in London.
I have heard it is excellent. Is it in Croydon?
Also on the list would be a pub I have written down somewhere, that claims to sell the best pint of Guinness in London.
So far, the best Guinness I have come across is poured in Fealty's Bar in Bangor, Norn Iron.
Great pub, especially when Ireland are playing rugby.
It even has a book club!

Ah, Be Jesus ! I would love to go to that Fealty's Bar in Bangor just for the sake of a good Guinness !

There are a few Irish Pub in Paris and they do sell a pretty good guiness, mostly because they have the demand and the beer does not stay long in the pipes, and most of the staff is Irish, which adds to the charm.
Even though they speak good French, I enjoy exchanging a few words in English with them.
