Hi, Rusty!
Whew, I am exhausted!
But yes, more or less successful, so it was all worthwhile!
I have very nearly finished all my present buying.......
And the remainder of my cards are all bought, including ones for family.
I shall now spend the rest of the afternoon writing them out!
I need a coffee first.....

Good evening, Elle!
Hard work this card writing!
I did mine last week.
It is good to get it out of the way.
Quite cold here, frosty again.

Hi, Rusty!
My next task is to go to the P.O. and buy stamps!
I have a nasty feeling that the posting date for Overseas may well be past?
Tomorrow looks like being a busy day.....
I have an appointment to have my hair cut.......a visit to the Crematorium to fit in......and the stamp buying trip!
Ah well -- it'll keep me out of mischief!

Hello, Elle!
I think it depends where your mail is going.
But the recommended last posting dates should be past, I'd say.
I get my stamps at ASDA.
It is white outside.
Very frosty again!

A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is cold and frosty here, too!
A beautiful day, though, with blue sky and sunshine.
There is definitely the feel-good factor!
My Overseas cards go all over the place...... Spain, France , Belgium, Canada , New Zealand, Australia......ah well, they will no doubt make it for an early Easter!
Right, I am away now to the hairdressers for a (half inch?) trim!

Good morning, Elle!
The frost has gone, it is milder today!
We are up to about 5C now.
I think the "last posting dates" may give a bit of leeway, Elle, so maybe your cards will arrive in time for Christmas.
I thought your hairdresser would now be redundant with your newly sharpened scissors taking over!

Hi, Rusty!
Home again!
It is still lovely out, but the temperature seems to be dropping....still a little bit of frost on the roofs......
I cut my fringe myself, Rusty, but do not attempt the rest of my hair!
(But the newly -sharpened scissors are good!)
I am in need of sustenance ...I shall go and forage.....

Good afternoon, Elle!
A fine day here.
I cut my hair, myself.
But it will do now until Spring.
Hope you can manage 20a!

Peter Sagan is not noted for his climbing ability, but this is a bit special, at his Winter training camp!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Wow! Good for Peter Sagan!
Sooner him than me! (she says ungrammmatically!)
I do not think that Bolton has become a city?
Unless of course this has happened unbeknown to me?
It is (I think) the UK's biggest town, and did put in for 'city' status a few years ago, but lost out to Preston.
Were I am a betting person, I would put money on it (but maybe not my shirt) that the clue is incorrect?

Elle, in Chambers - and so perhaps in crosswords - 'city' is defined as 'a large town', so the setter has got a reason, justification if he or she is looking for one!
