Hello, Elle!
Doggie will be fine now, I think!
Yes, Ur is often in crossword puzzles.
Apparently the sweetie sharing between ex-President Bush and Michelle Obama started at John McCain's funeral earlier in the year.
Michelle looked very pleased to get a sweetie!
You could see Dubya going into his jacket pocket as he came down the aisle!
A nice touch!
I am going to Pine Cone tomorrow and Sunday.
I think it will be busy up there!

Hello, Pigale!
Sorry, I did not see the series, and am no expert on the Tudors anyway.
Maybe Elle or Chris saw it.

No, Pigale, I didn't watch it either...
I rarely watch these type of programmes as they seem prone to factual inaccuracies.
Maybe this will help
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tudors
When you get to the end it points out the inaccuracies.
I also googled the programme's authenticity, and found that
articles from The Guardian and The Telegraph also remark on the programme being "historically inaccurate"
Maybe just enjoy the drama without worrying too much about the facts?

Thanks Elle,

While watching (and enjoying) the programme, I thought that there
may just be some factual inaccuracies, both because it did not quite
concur with some of the history I had learnt at school, and also
because it all tended to be somewhat romantic.
Still interesting in parts though.

It IS difficult to find a GOOD historical film, both on the point of acting
and that of accuracy.

I shall have a look at your link tomorrow as now, it is well past
my bed time
Sleep well

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I remember your saying that you are going to the Pine Cone two days running!
With a different granddaughter each day?
We have a quiet day tomorrow ....but we have twice been invited out for Sunday!
Unfortunately, the timings clash, so we can only go to one event.
We were first invited - and so that is where we are going - to a Charity coffee morning/lunch in aid of the Macmillan nurses.
We went to one previously, last year, given by the same friends, and the hosts did well, raising over a thousand pounds for the charity.
We shall know most of the folk invited, so that will be a pleasant social occasion.
It is from 11am onwards on Sunday, through till teatime, so there will be plenty of time to walk the dog first.
I am looking forward to it!

Good morning, Elle!
It is dry here anyway.
I had a look in to the osprey site and it is very wild there!
Gale force winds by the look of it!
Your Macmillan outing sounds good and it's an excellent cause.
I hope it does well, maybe you can get your Christmas cards there?
I am going out with Miss O, later, and I suspect the Pine Cone will be very busy today.
Meantime, ASDA is calling and I'm off to get my paper.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is bright and sunny here, very cold and extremely windy!
A pleasant invigorating walk!
The dog is fully recovered from whatever ailed her.......she enjoyed her run.....and has devoured her breakfast, on our return, with her usual gusto.
Yes, I think the Macmillan coffee morning / lunch party should be good!
But I shall not be able to buy Christmas cards - there will be nothing on sale.
This is a private function, held in a friend's home, to raise funds for the charity.
The couple do this every year.
There is a box for donations into which the guests pay a voluntary contribution .
People are usually very generous.
As I said previously, usually around £1000 is collected at each event.
What time is Miss O coming to collect you?
I hope you both have a great time!

Hello, Elle!
Great day here, too.
Just home from Pine Cone.
It is just mobbed there!
They told me it's the busiest day of the year.
My son and his wife are off to Edinburgh to do some shopping.
Today's puzzle is on the easy side, I thought.
I'm a bit disappointed with it.
One or two still to parse though.

Hi, Rusty!
I expect the Pine Cone will continue to be very busy between now and Christmas - with the attraction of the Christmas shop and the selling of trees , the cafe must do a roaring trade?
Your son and his wife must be very keen shoppers to go all that way to Edinburgh!
I balk even at going to Bromley - only about three miles away - whereas Edinburgh must be...what?..... fifty/ sixty miles from you?
My last parcel has just arrived - the books that I have ordered as presents for the grandkids are very pleasing......nicely packaged in sets.
Well, I have finished the crossword puzzle in that I have all the answers, but I still have six partial parses remaining to be solved!
Our beautiful day has disappeared - it is now pouring with rain!

Good afternoon, Elle!
The cafe was hectic!
There was quite a queue for tables when we came away.
My son and daughter-in-law go to Edinburgh every year for shopping.
It would not be me!
Edinburgh is a bit more than 50 miles.
They parked their car at the station and caught a train.
Even worse are the Norn Iron folk.
They are in Poland for the Christmas markets! Mad!
But they really like Poland.
Still nice here.
I saw the torrential rain at Sandown at the racing.
I was watching the ice hockey.
Dundee v Belfast.
I was cheering both!
