Hello, Pigale!
Hopefully your friend will get your Hudl up and running!
They are good little tablets!
Yes, Google Chrome are trying to encourage site owners to change from http to https.
https is much better, they say, things are encrypted, safer, and faster.
The "not secure" is Chrome trying to encourage site owners to change to a better system.

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been in the garden with the dog - we both got very wet!
I wonder how my friend is making out in her half marathon?
She doesn't like rain!!!
I have a very mistrustful nature, Rusty - security sites or no - and I never let my passwords be saved.
The girls advised me not to do so...so I do as I am told!
Pigale has explained it very well though, and yes, the "Https" on a site denotes security.
I just play it cautious!
I am constantly amazed by this obsession with Facebook, aren't you?
My family does the same as yours ... it is up on Facebook the minute they do something!
I often hear of some antic from someone else, who has seen it on Facebook, before I am "officially" told!
Remember the time my young grandson crashed the car....?
Goodness, that episode being displayed on Facebook caused family ructions!

Hello, Pigale!
I had similar problems connecting my Hudl with Wifi after installing a new battery - followed all the "instructions" to no avail!
Daughter fixed it in a trice!

Hello, Elle!
No rain here!
You are wise to be cautious regarding websites.
So am I, to a degree.
The FaceBook thing I find fascinating.
I have never ventured on to it, but I know tradesmen who swear by it.
They use it for advertising and are all very pleased with it.
I get told of stuff on FaceBook, too.
A lot of my New York info is coming to me via Belfast!

I have never used facebook either, and probably never will!
The prospect of having info about me being made public to the
world at large does not entice me to do so.

Being a very secretive person about what really matters, there are
bits of info that I only release to some chosen friends, either when I
meet them, or nowadays via email.

Having said that, I am well aware that the moment you touch a
computer, nothing remains really private! Thus there are things,
ie feelings or personal info, that will always remain very private
never to be aired. I only divulge what I do not mind being divulged, and that's that.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I can understand Facebook being a good vehicle for advertising!
And why not indeed?
But I cannot comprehend folk wanting to share their every movement?
Oh, I know that you can 'limit' who reads/ sees your offerings...but even so!
I have just been having a long telephone conversation with my elder daughter about their impending school choices....
I think I am a "sounding board" for her thoughts!
The decision needs to be made by the end of this month.
I am glad that it is she, and not I, at the end of these decision -making changes!
Right, time to make a coffee before my cousin phones.......it has been a day for calls!

Hello, Elle!
I am not at all sure what you can do on FaceBook but I stay well away!
I think the young ones are gradually moving away from FaceBook.
There may be something trendier to use?
I am sure your daughter will arrive at a sensible decision.
With your help....
I am about to text New York and Norn Iron to see what's going on!.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I am sure between the three of them...daughter, son-in-law and grandson ...they will eventually decide on the right course of action.
I cannot really proffer an independent opinion...I have not seen any of these schools for myself...
I can only "view" them through my daughter's eyes.
Have you managed to get in touch with your family in NY, and your friends in Belfast?
I hope all is well?
Is tomorrow your family's last full day there?
What time is their flight back on Tuesday?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, your daughter and family will make the most sensible solution.
There must be thousands going through the same situation.
Yes, heard from both sides of the Atlantic!
They took the ferry to Liberty Island, Ellis Island, and Battery Park, so far today, so all going well.
They leave JFK Airport around midnightish (our time) tomorrow and should land at Edinburgh around 7 on Tuesday morning.

Hi, Rusty!
It is good that all is well with your family in New York.
They are obviously highly skilled sight-seers....... I am impressed!
I cannot imagine being able to fit in so much to do and see in so short a space of time.
Their photos should be interesting to see when they come back.
My friend who has the house in Majorca, near to the flood damage, finally contacted me...
Luckily, all is well out there..... I was becoming worried when I failed to hear from her.
Speaking of flood damage..it is still raining here!

Good morning, Elle!
A bit chilly here.
Temperature is 5°C outside.
There was a hint of frost on my windscreen earlier.
Yes, the family has a list of things to see/do in New York.
I don't suppose they will get round all of them, but as long as they have a good time that's the main thing.
That's good news about your friend in Majorca.
Spain and Portugal caught the tail end of Hurricane Michael.
Good puzzle today.
New words and meanings for me!
