Hello, Elle!
I am perfectly happy with 8.
A meaning of "sensible" is "having the power of sensation".
Which, to me, can mean feeling/sensing the signals/message travelling along the nerves.
The "mimicking bird" baffles me.
Parrots mimic, but I can't see a link to peeping.
I have had a look in Bradford's, but found nothing to help.
There was a bird called a "pea", now a "peafowl", but that is no help.
Last I heard of my friends they were at Dublin International.
I do not know if they have left Dublin or not yet.

Hi, Rusty!
I think I may have it?
It's all in the phrasing ......
Peep = cheep (see Anne B)
So if the cat were mimicking a bird, the cat would be making a "cheeping / peeping" noise...
Hence the cat would be a "Peeping Tom"?
What do you think?

Hello, Elle!
I can just about follow you.
If correct, it is a very vague clue, surely?
What kind of mind would create a clue like that?
Though the more I think about it, the better it gets!
Yes, Elle, that'll do for me. Well done!

Hi, Rusty!
You know, I very nearly got there back in my post 23190,at 5.35 pm., when I wondered whether the "mimicking" was meant to refer to the bird or the cat....
If only I'd pursued that train of thought back then!
Still, we got there in the end!
Well done, us!
A coffee and a ginger biscuit to celebrate?

Hi, Rusty!
I am only just getting around to having my coffee (and biscuit)...…!
I was side -tracked by a call from my granddaughter's mum....,. they are hoping to come to visit.
We saw our granddaughter only recently with our son.....but haven't seen her mum and half brother for a while...
So it will be good if everyone can come together!
Oh dear! I cannot find my reading glasses....I've looked everywhere.....
I've obviously put them down......
But where?
I meant to watch "Casualty"...but was too busy playing "Hunt the Specs".....

Hello, Elle!
It would be nice if all your extended family turned up for a visit!
Have a look for your specs on the telephone table?
I was looking to see if the Chicago Marathon was on Eurosport tomorrow but I can not see it listed.

Hi, Rusty!
I've found my specs...….
I think Galen Rupp won the Chicago Marathon last year?
But I haven't heard anything at all about the race this year.
I expect Mo Farah will be competing?
It's still raining here!

Hello, Elle!
It's been a fine evening here!
Galen Rupp is running again, and Mo is entered, too.
Geoffrey Kirui is the favourite.
I tried BBC Red Button and Eurosport but no sign of it.
Then I discovered it is being "streamed" to UK and Ireland on something called "Flotrack", pay-per-view.
So....I'll be watching the racing from France.
Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe tomorrow.

Update, Elle!
I had a wee look at Times Monthly and 25a jumped out at me.
I have been there several times many, many, years ago!
