Good morning, Elle!
Great morning here and the wind is rising!
I have not seen the Parent Trap that I can remember.
But, if Maureen O'Hara was in it, it would be good!
Mary-Kate and Ashley were great in their series.
They are grown up now and I do not know what they are up to.
I never knew which twin was which!
Good luck with the book sorting, and be ruthless!

Hi, Rusty!
You have mentioned watching "Two of a Kind" with your granddaughters, before......but I don't think I have ever realised until now that the twins in the story were actually played by "real" twins!
I had assumed that they were one and the same person, as when twins were played by Hayley Mills.
I have known three sets of identical twins......two girls in the year below me at school; twin boys who played with my son when young children; and my best friend for many years is an identical twin!
And I have never had any trouble telling any of the siblings apart!
Sue ( this is my friend from Tewin ) and her sister look exactly the same, but are very different in character.
I AM being ruthless.......but as one book goes into the box......another one (or three) pops through the letter-box from Amazon!

Hello, Elle!
Oh, yes, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were identical twins, and the characters they played were called "Mary-Kate and Ashley", too.
But with a different surname, "Burke" I think.
They were very funny!
Well, Elle, at least you are trying to cull your book collection!
It's a lovely day here, but on the chilly side!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am exhausted...I never want to see / touch/ carry about / another book ...ever!
So far....I have filled nine cartons full of books!
And still there are many more!
We shall talk of something else...
Another good crossword puzzle today!
My favourites were 1d; 4d; 5d; and 16d.
3d:"lingam" is a new word for me.
But I am stuck on 13a: Hour of prayer held by canon everyday (4)
The answer would appear - from the crossers, and by dint of its being "hidden" in the clue - to be "none"?
Is this something to do with "Nones" ?
I am but hazy about this..... and too tired to do any investigating!

Moral of the Day - do not throw any books away...just sit on them!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Good progress with the book purge.
I'm sure you'll feel much better when they've gone!
You probably should have done this years ago!
I had not come across "lingam", too, but that appears to be the answer to 3d, yes.
I have "none", Elle, but have no idea about hour of prayer.
I had a look to see if Anne Bradford knew it, and under "hour" she has "none(s)".
What "Nones" are you mentioning?
I have not investigated them in Chambers, but had a quick look on YouTube, and there are several videos there about them, from the USA.
Brewer's has, "In the ancient Roman Calendar the ninth (Latin nonus) day before Ides, and in the Roman Catholic Church, the office for the ninth hour after sunrise, i.e. between 12 noon and 3pm".
I hope that helps!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, you are quite right...I should have dealt with this book problem a long time ago!
We have bookshelves lining three walls of our lounge (it's a big room) and bookcases in three of the four bedrooms!
So I have managed to accumulate a lot of books!
And I haven't even thought yet about tackling all our text books!
We do inevitably have some duplicated volumes........resulting from following parallel careers.
I have no idea what "Nones" I meant, Rusty!
I had just heard of them!
I had no idea of their significance!
You seem to have found the answer from Brewers.
Well done!

Hello, Ros!
Thank you for that!
I had vaguely heard of the term, but it meant nothing to me!

Hello, Elle!
Seems to be an awful lot of books you have gathered!
Think that will take a while to clear out.
"Nones" are new to me, too, Elle.
Yes, Brewer's is a good book to have to hand, though I do not use it very much.
My son is coming on Thursday to do the wee jobs!
So, I am going to the cemetery tomorrow, with flowers, and I'll keep Thursday clear.

Hi, Rusty!
That is good that your son can come on Thursday to help you with your jobs.
You have a nice helpful family.
Are you going to the cemetery tomorrow on a "regular" visit ..... ..or is it to commemorate a birthday or anniversary?
We try to keep flowers/ plants there at the crematorium whenever possible, but always go especially for a birthday or such.
I've had a busy evening........my elder daughter rang to update me about schools, and following hard on that, one of my friends to fill me in on some family problems she is having.
I am counting my blessings at the moment .....I do appreciate just how lucky I am!
We all need to be thankful for our families, whilst we have them safe.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I am lucky getting help when I need it from my sons, and I've a list of good tradesmen should I need them.
And my grandson gives me financial advice, if I ask.
He is an accountant.
So, I count my blessings, too!
Just a normal visit to the cemetery.
I am pretty much the only one who goes throughout the year.
There are more visiting at Christmas.
I'll get one of the ASDA girls to help me pick flowers, then head off to the cemetery.
The staff at my ASDA are brilliant with me, and always loads of laughs!
Has your daughter made any progress regarding schools?
