Hello Elle and Rusty,

Yes, that heat is just right - could be even hotter come Summer..........!!!

Breakfast on the terrace was lovely!

I will never understand the pleasure some idiots take in posting
such rubbish here!

I have English friends arriving late this evening - I will not see them
until tomorrow though - they have a little house about 100 metres
from me; it will be nice seeing them!

Hello, Elle!
Goodness it's warm here!
That first link that you posted is June doing "the strip"!
June was a teacher and one of the first announcers on Grampian TV.
She was known as the "Torry Quine".
Torry is in Aberdeen.
I reported fly tipping to my council a couple of weeks ago by their online report form and it had gone within the hour.
I said it was a "health hazard".
My son told me they have a "rapid response" team.
I was pleasantly surprised by the speed at which the rubbish was dealt with.
Mind, there may have been others that reported it before me.
I think if you tell them it is a possible health hazard they will react quickly, Elle.

Hello, Pigale!
Very nice weather here, too!
I hope you have a nice time meeting up with your English friends.
PS. I agree with you regarding the spamming pests!

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, but this wasn't fly-tipping, Rusty!
This was just the disgusting aftermath of "weekenders" - park "visitors" who just "up and off "leaving all their rubbish behind them!
Carrier bags, decaying food, bones from whatever meat they barbecued, half- empty food containers, dangerous disposable barbecue grills.....
All spread around covering all areas of the park.
This is just left abandoned ...........it happens most weekends, although today was particularly bad.
The desecration would have to be seen to be believed!
I am sure you would be horrified were you to see it!
The staff employed to deal with it are useless........wandering about picking up odd bits of paper instead of getting to the nitty -gritty......
It needs someone in authority who can bring a modicum of common sense to bear here, and can "organise" the work force to deal sensibly and efficiently with the rubbish clearance, prioritising by removing the bigger accumulated piles first, for instance.
Fortunately a number of people took photos and will be sending those to the relevant authorities.
Oh dear, I am on my soap box!

Hello, Elle!
The sun has got his hat on here.
Photos can be helpful, as will letting them know it is a potential health hazard.
It sounds pretty awful, though.
I think a soapbox and you would get on fine!
Have you told the council folk about it?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, indeed, the Council was my first port of call, by phone, on my return from the park this morning.
I did not want to fill in the online Complaints form, as I wanted to discuss the situation and to obtain some additional information.
I was very fortunate to get hold of a very helpful member of staff, who took down all the relevant details, and then gave me the contact details of the firm contracted out to do the cleaning up of the park.
This was a particularly opportune time to file a complaint, as the park 's Ground Maintenance contract is up for renewal very shortly......
( Emotional blackmail and all that jazz!)
I have now also emailed said Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance firm with details of the complaint issued to the Council.
My friend will send on his photographic evidence to both the Council and the firm contracted to do the work.
We shall see what (if indeed anything) develops.
But at least we have tried!
And not let things go by default!

Hello, Elle!
Let's hope you get action after your efforts to have your park restored to its normal condition.
It appears to have been left in a very unattractive state.
Still a nice day here!
Puzzle complete.
No new words for me, today!
But 7d is a phrase/motto I had not came across before.
I think the spammers are winning today!

Hello, Malone!
I agree, just blooming pests!
There does not appear to be a straightforward solution, either.

Rusty, I'd heard of the 7 D phrase before, but I don't much like the clue - there doesn't seem to be any wordplay!
