Hi, Rusty!
I am never going to be convinced, Rusty.......and I do not like waiting for an accident to happen!
It is a pity....as I surely should enjoy watching the scenery, on occasions.
Now Will.i.am!
I've copied and pasted bits for you.....

William James Adams Jr. (born March 15, 1975), known professionally as will.i.am (pronounced "will I am"), is an American musician and actor. He is best known as a founding member of the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas.
He is a multi-faceted entertainer and creative innovator, and a seven-time Grammy Award winner.
For will.i.am, philanthropy is a top priority in everything that he does. His i.am.angel foundation has partnered with both the California Endowment and College Track to help TRANS4M the youth community Boyle Heights, a neighbourhood where will.i.am grew up.

There is a lot more , but this will give you an idea.
Will seems a very nice guy.
Joanna Lumley did an interview with him a while back....... it was very interesting.
( Are you sure I haven't told you this last part before? I am getting a sense of deja vu?)

Hello, Elle!
I have not heard of Will, but Black Eyed Peas seems familiar.
You may have told me before but often I am forgetful of things!
Golf has just finished.
I enjoyed it.
But, on a sadder note, I've just heard that Michael Goolaerts has died after his cardiac arrest and crash during Paris-Roubaix.
He was 23 years old.
Very sad indeed.

Let us hope that Mr Goolaerts did not have a heart attack, directly or indirectly, as a result of too many red blood cells......surely all cyclists of his calibre have their hearts monitored for (inborn) abnormalities to avoid such tragedies?

Good morning, Rusty
It is yet another wet day here!
I hope your weather is better than this?
Yes, it is very sad about Michael Goolaerts; so very young to die.
I wonder what caused the heart attack?
I expect we shall eventually hear.
I wonder whether there will be any Athletics shown in the Games schedule today?
So far, I haven't seen or heard of any athletic events taking place?
Not that I shall have much time for watching!
My daughter has just phoned........they are stuck in traffic en route...
She is estimating that they should be here about midday.
Meanwhile I had better have a tidy round...!

Good morning, Elle!
A cloudy morning here.
I do not know the procedure in France after a sudden death.
Post mortem?
We do not know if the heart attack caused the crash, or the crash caused the heart attack.
I suspect the former, though there have been crashes where the riders' hearts stopped.
But, a great pity for Goolaerts and his family and friends.
I have no idea about the Games schedule today.
Can't see a schedule in my paper.
Is this the final week?
Hopefully your daughter and family will soon be with you!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, I have tidied up......after a fashion!
And have since been doing the 15 x 15 whilst I still have some time to myself.
All finished, except there are two clues that I cannot do.........and one I cannot parse.
I shall mull them over.......
I think I will set the recorder for the Games Highlights, and then if there are any Athletics events, I can catch them later.
Sounds like a plan?
What are you up to today?

Hello Elle and Rusty,

Sad news about Goolaerts! Too young to die indeed.

Sudden death usually entails a postmortem - whether that will be
the case or not I am not sure, but I would imagine that it will.

I read in the article in La Dépêche that Goolaerts was found lying
on the ground with no other rider around - this tends to indicate
a heart failure resulting in the crash, and not the other way round.

I suspect it will be a few days before we hear more about it, since
the powers that be are going to keep silent on the matter initially as a mark of respect to the family. (This is what I understand anyway).

Raining here, but still warmish and some thunder due this afternoon

Good afternoon, Pigale!
I agree with you.
I think he took ill, had a heart attack, then crashed.
He was riding alone in an early stage of the race.
So, why alone?
Suggests to me there was something wrong with him, when he was not with the peloton.
And no team car near him, on the narrow roads of Paris-Roubaix.
Was he in radio contact with the team car?
We don't know.
Not all the riders use the radiophones.
A tragedy, though.

Hello, Elle!
I have finished the puzzle, too!
A clever setter!
Several new words to me.
6a,10a, 20a,11d.
I think I have them all parsed, though 8d took me an age to see it.
There is athletics on my TV now.
Shot putting.
I see Michael Johnson and Gabby Logan in the studio.
I have no plans at present.

Hello Elle and Rusty,

Just received this mail from the Loch!

Hi

We are aware of other ospreys landing on the nest, there has been a lot of activity from other ospreys coming into the area.

We know from LF15's behaviour that the only osprey mating with LF15 is LM12. He is still coming to the nest and mating with LF15 several times a day.

They are wild birds and we do not have any control over their behaviour. In regards to there potentially being 2 fathers to the chicks. This is not unheard of and as long as LM12 or indeed the other male continue to support the female and provide fish we will have a successful breeding season.

I hope that you can understand our postition on this situation. Our primary concern is to protect the nest and ensure that they can breed without human disturbance. We are not hiding anything from the public.

Kind regards

Emma Castle-Smith

I must admit to accusing them of treating us like children and hiding
the truth from us............!
So, in a very round about way, they almost admit that another
male has mated with Lassie - without honestly saying so - and this
is what annoys me!
