Good morning, Elle!
No thunderstorms so far!
Well done your gardener!
It will be a couple of weeks before my batteries need charged.
I have an awkward situation to deal with, but that's all I'll say.
Not many pages in Miss Peckwitt's novel?
Now, remember Eugene this evening!
Lynsey Sharp is running!
And Eilish McColgan.
Should be a good meeting!

Good morning, Rusty!
We had a spot or two of rain and some distant thunder, whilst out walking the dog!
But the sky is now blue and the sun is shining brightly!
I have duly pegged out all the washing on the Hill's Hoist, in good faith!
I have set the recorder for BGT (as no "Casualty" today), and will watch the Diamond League as and when it is shown on Eurosport Player.
9 pm, I think?
I am looking forward to it.
Do you have any plans for the day?

Hello, Elle.
It is fine weather here, so far, too.
I have been to shop and finished my puzzle.
No plans today, other than staying close to a phone.
The Diamond League should be excellent!

Hi, Rusty!
I have had a successful morning!
Dog walked....chores done ........Times 15 x15 finished (bar two parsings)....
Why is it that I always find Saturday 's puzzle easier?
Re being close to a phone......
Can you not leave your mobile number for contacting you in an emergency?
That would give you a bit more leeway?
Right, I am going to do a bit of gardening...... the "new look" is inspiring me to hard labour!

Hello, Elle.
My arrangements regarding phone calls suit me perfectly.
And I hear much better on my home phone.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, well that is perfectly understandable.
"Our" foxes (next door) were very upset yesterday by the gardeners invading their territory, but mum and cubs were out playing on our lawn this morning!
The babies are very cute!
I have finished my weeding for now....it is too hot to do more.....
I am back indoors where it is much cooler.....studying the crosswords....
Now...I have discovered that there was one clue I'd omitted to answer, so the crossword is not completed after all!
12A: Tailless bird flying over South African mountain (4)
I think the answer is berg = mountain (def),
but cannot parse it?
I shall go and commune for a while with Miss P!

Hello, Pigale!
I thought I would enquire after both you and Fluffy?
Has she recovered from the frightening noise of the machinery yesterday?
It is a worry when the animals do not return home as expected.
Our foxes didn't like the invasion here yesterday either!
Any plans for the holiday weekend?

Over is berg.
It is cloudy but very warm here.
Oh for an ice cream!

Hello Elle!

I am well, thank you, keeping cool with both ceiling and desk fans!
It is extremely hot, and at 32C it is too warm even for me. At least it is not a humid heat, but yesterday's nice breeze has left us!

Yes, Fluff seems quite happy again - but I was truly worried because whereas the mother gets around in other gardens etc... Fluffy never
leaves my garden; I was afraid she might have got on the road; it is
a small road with little traffic, but who knows!

You are certainly full of enthusiasm working in the garden in this
heat! You deserve a rest with your book!

what sort of flowers to you have on the treillis?

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you!
I would have been here "till the cows came home", struggling to get that.
I've still two more parsings to solve, but I shall battle on for a while.
No clouds here.......
It is glorious!
I have ice cream in my freezer.....!

Hello, Pigale!
You know, I don't remember the names of our "climbers"...... next time David comes, I shall ask him and will write the names down so as to tell you!
I'm neither a good nor keen gardener - I like it to look nice, but with minimum effort (on my part)!

I spent the afternoon in Chetenham Hospital getting an IV antibiotic (and some to take home) for a sudden infection. Every last person was friendly and helpful and they were very thorough. Good ols NHS.
