Hello, Elle.
Paddy P are treating the event as a "match" between
Faith Kipyegon at 1/3 and Laura Muir at 2/1.
Basically, Elle, Faith is a hot favourite to win, with Paddy.
We shall see!

Hi, Rusty!
Goodness! it has been extremely hot today1
I have been out for lunch - this was the last session of "Ladies who Lunch" for the rest of the Summer!
I shall miss the food and the chat!
All the new fencing down the sides of the garden is now in place - there is still some repair work to be done on the original fencing at the back...it is somewhat rocky after the hurricanes!
The trellis needs to be re - fastened, and other minor gardening repairs effected ,but hopefully all should be finished tomorrow.
I am very pleased - it looks good!
I am looking forward to the 1500m on Saturday!
I think Helen Obiri is a serious contender, too?

Good morning, Elle!
Well done on the gardening restoration work!
Very warm here already.
The 1500m for women at Eugene looks very competitive indeed.
Just had a look at the chicks getting fed at Loch of the Lowes.
Boy, they are growing!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is very warm here, too!
But we were blessed with a light breeze whilst out walking, which was nice.
As far as I can tell, I have the Eugene DL on EuroSport Player from 9 -11 pm tomorrow evening.
This will fit in well, as it gives me free time during the day.
But the Highlights are being shown on BBC 2 on Sunday , anyway, after the Great Manchester Run.
So one way or another, I shall be able to watch it.
I cannot see Lassie's chicks properly this morning - the picture at present is cloudy again.
Was there any further word from Loch Garten about Odin?

Hello, Elle!
No breeze here, just hot!
Lassie's chicks are doing away fine.
The little one has been snatching food from the elder sibling's beak!
I have looked into the Loch Garten site and the nest is always empty.
I do not know if EJ is still in the area.
No sign of Odin either.
From Monday BGT is on twice every evening until they sort out the finalists etc.
How is Miss Peckwitt's new book coming along?

Good afternoon, Rusty!
We are fortunate in that it is fresher here than it was yesterday - still very warm, but less humid.
The breeze - albeit very gentle - is still with us.

It is as well you have reminded me about BGT being on (twice?) each evening....I had forgotten that was how it worked.
I don't actually like this, though, do you?
Too much crammed into too short a space and time?
My other book from Amazon has arrived, now, too!
The seventh book of the Hebridean series - "Bruach Blend".
I am reading one of my other recent purchases at present, but I think "Bruach Blend" will be next on my list.
I should like to 'finish that series, before starting on Miss P's full- length novel "A Shine of Rainbows!
(incidentally, this is a very thin book- only 122 pages!)
Right.... time I did another tea round.........

Hey, Rusty!
Update!
All the gardening work is finished!
The new fencing looks great, and the trellis work and the climbing plants have survived all the upheaval!
The gardeners have done a wonderful job!
I am now well stuck in to "Bruach Blend"!
Miss P is on good form (again)!
I learned something new today when watching "15 to 1".......
"The Times" used to be called "The Daily Universal Register".
The paper began under that name in 1785, changing to its present name three years later.
Now I never knew that!
What sort of a day have you had?

Hello, Elle!
Well done on the gardening work!
You appear to have found good men!
It has been very warm here (too warm for me!) but we have thunder and lightning forecast for tomorrow.
I have had a quiet day.
Hope that continues.

Hi elle

I have ot a facsimile of the first ever "Universal Daily register" (somewhere). Quite boring!

I love local newspapers and use them lots in family history. My favourite headline from ouside a Cornish Newsagent is

METHODIST OPTICIAN'S STOLEN KISS

he paid for it, in spades

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, David is a very good landscape gardener and a hard worker.
We have known him for a long time, and can always rely on him to do a good job!
It is good that you had a quiet and peaceful day, you will need that to recharge your batteries.
We all need that at times.
We, too, have been forecast thunder and rain early morning......but I think we shall still plan on going out early with the dog.
Unless there is lightning......I don't much like that!
My present book by Miss P is also illustrated by the same guy as in the other books ....they really are great sketches, aren't they?
They conjure up the situation very well.

Hello, Ros!
A mind -boggling headline.......
Btw.....I was brought up a Methodist!
