Hi, Rusty!
Miss L-B 's action put me in mind of my cousin's funeral procession.
We were driving from the church at Kirkintilloch to wherever the crematorium was - miles away it would appear - when the driver of the hearse stopped to allow a duck shepherd her very tiny ducklings across the road!
I couldn't help but think my cousin would have approved - I could envisage him smiling down upon the event!
I don't know whether Shanghai is live? but I do know that if I watch now on the computer, I get two hours of Athletics....whereas if I wait until tomorrow, I will only get an hour's highlights from the BBC!
Miss P and I are making steady progress!
But I think I preferred "The Hills".....I chuckled out loud more!

Hey, Rusty!
The Athletics coverage was fine!
But I was puzzled to see that there was a Russian called "Shubenkov" taking part in the Men's 110m Hurdles .
The commentator referred to him as being there on "a special dispensation, because of the situation with Russia" but offered no further enlightenment.
Most interestingly and strangely, where the countries' flags were displayed next to the competitors' names, there was a blank white rectangle next to the name of the "Russian".
No flag!
Did you watch? Did you see that?
Adam Gemili did well in the 200m - he came third in a very prodigious field.
I have recorded BGT as two hours athletics' viewing is enough for me for one evening!

Hello, Elle!
I have not had my television set on this evening so I can not help with the Russian lad, I'm afraid.
I had a visit from Miss O and the time flew by.
I did not think the countries mattered in the Diamond League, though.
They compete as individuals, surely?
I am going to watch a bit of the golf now.
I like the course, at Sawgrass, Florida.
There was an alligator on it yesterday.
I am the same regarding television viewing.
Two hours in the evening is ample.
I'll watch half an hour of the golf then that will be it until BGT sometime tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
That was nice, your having a visit from Miss O.
I was enthralled to hear the children of Bruach being invited to drop their pennies (into a Blackpool teapot) all to the tune of "Hear The Pennies Dropping"!
How weird because I was only telling you yesterday that I used to do that as a child when attending Sunday School at our local Methodist church!
I wonder if this happens at all Sunday Schools?
A further incident that I found amusing was Morag's wanting to see the "penny-goin'-ins"........
Miss P thought she meant the slot machines in an amusement- arcade........
But Morag was referring to the penguins at the local zoo!
I am enjoying these stories!

Hello, Elle!
I was never at Sunday School, being a heathen, you see.
I was at a Methodist wedding one time though, in Newtownards, where the Bridgedale socks are made.
The minister was a very nice lad, I remember that, as was his wife.
I liked the Methodists.
I have just ordered, "Bruach Blend", "A Rope in Case", and "Beautiful Just" from eBay. £2.04 each inc p & p.
A local zoo at Bruach?
Surely not!

Good morning, Rusty!
After a somewhat poggy start , the sun is now shining!
How is the weather up your way?
Ah, I didn't make it clear about the zoo, now did I?
Morag and Miss P were away in Edinburgh - on their "tour" - when Morag made the remark relating to the "penny- goin'-ins"!
So the "local" zoo was in Edinburgh!
I'm assuming that Miss P also wrote the three books that you have just ordered?
I hadn't realise that she had written so many - it is easy to become addicted, isn't it?!
We have no specific plans for today.........BB is invited to a birthday party this afternoon, so we shall not be seeing them.
We shall take the day as it comes.
For now.... coffee and the Everyman!

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here.
I went round the Nature Trail earlier.
Yes, I made a random selection of her books.
Miss Peckwitt wrote a lot of books.
Some novels, too.
And a "Hebridean Cook Book"!
I am taking it easy today until the golf starts in the afternoon, and the Tour of Italy is going to Blockhaus today.
One for the pure climbers!
I watched BGT early today and there are three acts I like.
Have you watched it?

Hi, Rusty!
I have been lazily doing the Everyman puzzle - finished it completely, parsing and all - and reading Miss P's latest adventures!
The "Hebridean Cook Book" might be interesting?
( Did you buy that, as well? )
No, I have not felt like watching the television, so have not yet seen BGT.
I shall probably watch it this evening.
I have to admit that I enjoy it as much for Alesha's and Amanda's reactions, as for the various performances!
I will report back on it, once I have seen the programme!
I have the recorder set for the Triathlon in Yokohama, too.
That starts at 1 o'clock, but we shall be going out for a walk about then.
Btw, the Shanghai DL Athletics cannot have been "live" as it was not specified on EP as such........but I could not find a reference as to when they took place?
You sound to have your day enjoyably planned!

Hello, Elle!
No, the Cook Book is of no interest to me.
But there are tales among the recipes, apparently.
I just noticed it on Miss Peckwitt's page on Amazon.
I did not see "live" on the Shanghai programme so I doubted that it was live, but do not know what o'clock they keep in Shanghai, compared to here.
Just been watching Jonathan Edwards on the summit of Blockhaus where the Giro will arrive later.
He is wearing an overcoat!
Must be chilly high up!
There was a girl on BGT who really impressed me.
I shall say no more, but I am wondering if we have seen a future star performer!

Elle, update.
If you go the BBC News online and click on Scotland, you can see a few seconds of a video clip showing the new chick.
