Hi, Rusty!
We have only just finished dinner......very late eating tonight as there were a couple of (lengthy) family phone calls earlier.
We had stuffed peppers, along with potato salad and fresh tomatoes. Very nice!
Your speaking of Usain Bolt has reminded me that, on Saturday last, I recorded a documentary about him.
It was entitled "Usain Bolt: The Last Chapter" in which Steve Cram spoke to Usain.
I still haven't seen it!
Did you happen to watch it? It was only a half hour programme on BBC1.
I must take a look later on before I forget it again!
I haven't even had time today to do a single crossword!!

Hello, Elle!
Your tea sounds very nice!
I like salady things.
I shall buy potato salad tomorrow.
No, I did not see the programme but I like Steve Cram and Usain, and I am sure it will be good.
I was watching a streamed awards show for stable and stud lads and lasses.
One lady had been involved with an Equine Hospital for 38 years!
I was also reading about the Tennessee Tigerbelles.
The great women sprinters from Tennessee.
Wilma Rudolph, Wyomia Tyus, Chandra Cheeseborough, etc.
Wonder if there is a book about them and their coach?

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful day here - still a bit chilly, but blue sky and sunshine.
I had an enjoyable walk!
Have you been out yet for your paper?
I should think you would be able to get a book about Ed Temple?
I don't know about the individual runners in the Tennessee Tigerbelles.
Have you looked yet on Amazon?
I am not meeting my daughter for lunch today, as YB is a bit spotty - and chickenpox is going around his nursery.
Hopefully, though, he may only have a reaction to one of his recent vaccinations.
Instead, I think we are going to the Garden Centre later on, as we need some plants for our smaller flower beds and the patio pots.
It is a lovely drive out to Sevenoaks, where the garden centre is situated.

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here again!
I had a look on Amazon for a book on the Tigerbelles.
There are several on Wilma Rudolph so I added them to my "possibles".
I have heard of Sevenoaks.
We have a Ninewells in Dundee!

Hi, Rusty!
We are just going out to Polhill Garden Centre to buy some plants.......it is such a glorious day it will be a nice drive out there, and lovely when we get out into the countryside.
We have a High Elms, on the other side of Bromley, but no more numerical places near by........although I think there are both a Seven Elms and a Nine Elms elsewhere?
Catch up with you later......

Hi, Rusty!
Well, we had a good day out....coming home laden down with flowers for the garden!
We shall now have to get busy planting them!
Polhill Centre is not only renowned for its plants....... there is a series of shops within the store.
We came home with some additional gardening equipment........and I bought a dress from the Edinburgh Woollen Mill , plus several "bargain" books - three for £5!
Definitely, a successful trip!
What have you been up to?

It has been a fine day here.
I had a bit of a traipse around the Nature Trail in the afternoon.
I have an ancient cardigan from EWM.
it is great in Wintertime and I would not be without it.
I am heading to the cemetery tomorrow, it is several miles away and I usually have the place to myself, apart from the wildlife!
So, another canny day ahead.

Good evening, Rusty!
I haven't done very much since I came home........!
I've written a few overdue email letters..... accompanied Miss P on some more adventures.....and just finished watching "15 to 1".
I have learned something new from that.......
Apparently all distances from London are measured as from Charing Cross, as this is considered the centre of London,
Now I never knew that!
Also concerning "15 to 1", there was a contestant today called "Berty Bassett"!
Apart from the difference in spelling, "Bertie Bassett" was a mascot for the Liquorice -All-Sorts company.
I think the original "character" was portrayed made up of an assortment of the sweets?
But these days in the allsorts mix, there is a liquorice figure shaped like Bertie.
Strangely, no reference was made to the gentleman's name!
Yes, EWM is a great shop!
I have some good things from there!

Hello, Elle!
EWM is a fine shop, yes.
My fine old cardie and me will never part!
i have heard of Bertie Bassett.
So, all fine with Miss Peckwitt and you?
My Second Hebridean volume is late.
Not from World of Books, obviously!
I would have thought Lassie's first egg would have hatched by now?
Just have to be patient!

I was going to ask about eggs! The "Osprey fact file" says five to six weeks, but I couldn't remember when the eggs had been laid.
