Hello, Elle!
That was nice speaking to your friend!
I think you are right about Liddell becoming a missionary.
There is a tiny bell ringing in my head that he died in, I think, a POW camp in China or Japan, but I am not sure about that.
So take it with a pinch of salt.
I saw a bit of the tennis match earlier with Misses Bouchard and Sharapova.
Sharapova was winning the first set.
Now, this tournament is in Madrid, but there are few spectators and one of the line judges was wearing an anorak!
Some odd tennis competitions!
How is Miss Peckwitt getting on?

Hi, Rusty!
Miss P has just been to a Cattle Sale!
Yes, I am enjoying her stories!
You say you have ordered the Second Hebridean Omnibus....mine cost me 1p!
I hope you had as good a deal?
I have also ordered John McEnroe 's book "Serious".
That, too, was only 1p !
I am looking forward to reading that ........I like Mac.
I now have a "queue" of books awaiting my attention.......and still there is quite a lot of money left in my Amazon account!
I love having vouchers/ gift cards - then I never feel "guilty" when I purchase yet another book!
Right, time for a coffee.......

Hello, Elle!
My book is from eBay, at £2.68p, "very good".
I remember the cattle sale!
I have some credit in my Amazon account, too.
The reason I have credit there, is, I often use eBay because they are a bit cheaper.
It is a bit cooler here now.

Good morning, Elle!
Just thought I would let you know that Miss Bouchard beat Miss Sharapova in Madrid.
Right, off to dentist now!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a nice day here, but rather a cold one.
We seem to be slipping back into Winter!
Good for Eugenie in beating Maria.
This will now leave Maria way off target for direct entry into the Wimbledon Main Draw.
She would need to reach the Semi - Finals next week in Rome to make sure.
And if she were defeated in the first round, she would not qualify unless Wimbledon relents and gives her a Wild Card.
I (hopefully) do not see this happening?
Is your dental visit just a routine check?
I hope all is well and there are no problems.
We are away out shortly to meet with a bank official.
Hopefully, we can sort out a few problems...........

Good afternoon, Elle!
Great day here!
Hope you make progress with your banking official.
Watched a bit more of the Brochard v Sharapova game.
An excellent win for Eugenie, though very poor crowds at Madrid.
Spoiled for me somewhat this morning when I read that the LTA have granted Sharapova a wild card for their tournament at Birmingham.
Yes, a dental check-up today and the nurse dealing with me was Miss La Bamba's bestest pal!
So we had a nice chat!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
It is beautiful here, too, now!
There is even warmth in the sun, after an extremely chilly start to the day.
We only got home about 2 o'clock!
(Using public transport to and from the bank did not hasten matters!)
It proved a worthwhile outing...the young lady bank official was very helpful and very pleasant in her dealings with us.
Indeed, I have gained some useful information.
I think it is shameful if Maria is indeed given a Wild Card for the Aegon Tournament in Birmingham.
Is this actually "official" now?
When I looked earlier, it sounded a strong possibility but didn't seem to have actually happened?
I am inclined to think this is all on commercial grounds...as we said before, Maria will be a big draw.
So did you get the "all clear" at the dentist?

Hello, Elle!
Good that you and the bank lady got on.
I may have misled you regarding Sharapova.
The BBC say she "will" be offered a wild card for Birmingham, so it seems it has not been given yet.
BBC say Sharapova's representatives are in "talks" with the LTA about it.
She is a Nike athlete and I imagine they are pushing for the wild card.
I am no fan of Nike!
But no official announcement.... if one comes at all.
No all clear at dentist.
I have a thirty minute appointment for a filling, some ligament work and scaling and polishing.
I dislike scaling and polishing!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, here's hoping the wild card presentation may not go ahead!
I feel strongly that if Maria does get back "on the ladder", she should do it by effort and merit and not by wild cards.
Although I should prefer it if "cheats" were never allowed to compete again.
But that isn't going to happen!
Your dental treatment sounds complicated?
All I know about dental ligament is that it is connective tissue surrounding the root of a tooth connected to the socket.
I am not sure what problems may ensue?
What exactly do you need to have done?
We get our teeth routinely cleaned and polished every six months after our check ups.

Hello, Elle!
No, I think Sharapova will be at Birmingham and Wimbledon.
This cheating with the knowledge and encouragement of governing bodies has gone on for a long time.
Carl Lewis failed several drug tests, but I don't remember a ban.
He has no good thing to say about Usain Bolt, either.
Just Lewis being very jealous, I think.
I do not know what ligament work is going to take place but my dentist recommends it, so that's fine.
I never knew ligaments were involved with teeth!
