A "gimp" featured in "Pulp fiction", I think. I don't know if this was the origin of the term.

There are some gimp pins in the collection of all sorts in the shed here.

I don't remember the name "Thank your lucky Stars", Jazzy, but I bow to your better memory!
I think the girl with the Brummie accent was called "Janice"?

A great afternoon here!
I have memories of Janice saying, when discussing a record, "I wouldn't buy it, but I'll give it foive!"
I think it is Cochin-China. Is that one word?
One of the "gimp" usages allegedly came from head coach Sutton.
"Get those "gimps" off the track, we need it for our training".
Just several horrible people at BC, no matter how many medals they helped win.
One of the so called "gimps" was Dame Sarah, who has won an incredible tally of medals, and still going strong!
And this nonsense of telling Victoria Pendleton that she was not allowed to fall in love, smacks of East German protocols of the eighties.
She was very glad to leave it all behind her, marry the man who BC sacked because of her, and now thoroughly enjoys working with racehorses, in a much healthier environment.

I was browsing on YouTube and came across a clip of the Bristol fans singing "Goodnoight OIrene" at grounds all around England.
I thought it was great!

One of the grounds the Bristol fans were singing at was Rotherham United's.
It is called New York Stadium!

For some reason Hughie Green is coming to mind when I think of Janice....and her "I'll give it foive"......... were they in a programme together?
I've since looked up Cochinchina.
Mostly I have found it written as all one word - Wikipedia has it so ; though once or twice , it's been hyphenated as you have given it.
But The Times thinks it is two separate words...given as (6, 5)
I'm still going for one word........!
I have been talking to my daughter on the phone for over an hour!
She rang to tell me all about her trip to Berlin.
She enjoyed the visit to the office there, and meeting up with some of her colleagues.
But missed her children!

As far as I remember, Hughie Green had a girl called Monica as a hostess on his show.
I would say Cochin China without the hyphen.
Type "Bristol Rovers Goodnight Irene" into YouTube and you will get it.
My favourite football song is the Hibs supporters singing "Sunshine on Leith".

Yes, I shall definitely listen to "Bristol Rovers later"!
At the moment of typing this, I am watching/ listening to "The Voice: UK"
It is the start of the "Battle Rounds", where two members of each team in turn compete against each other, and one person is eliminated.
It is a good show and the contestants do have great talent.
It is sometimes sad , and such a pity, when someone has to go home!
I am enjoying tonight's show!
