Hi, Rusty!
Ugh! Wet out! We had just decided to go further afield for a longer walk as it was such a nice day, and fortunately little fresher, when the heavens opened! We're now all somewhat poggy!
So what is this about Djokovic? I was impressed by his sportsmanship and good manners? I though he seemed a nice guy.
And Rafa? you've obviously heard something that I haven't?
I've just read your post about Lizzie Armistead winning! I feel I should congratulate you as well as her! Fancy her going to Donegal too - so there's a coincidence, so there is!
A pity you didn't have a small bet on her after all!

Elle, it is a fine day here now!
"Poggy" is a new word to me! Have to check Chambers and Anne Bradford!
I read an article recently about drug cheats in tennis.
Four had admitted taking drugs or had failed tests.
Cilic, Rusedski, Agassi, and McEnroe. I may not have the correct spelling of Rusedski. First name, Greg.
The article covered more modern players too, and raised doubts about the careers of Djokovic and especially Nadal. Their colleagues are highly suspicious of them. An Australian commentator mentioned it live during a tournament. Some of these players look as fresh in a fifth set as they do in the opening set. It mentioned others too, including Serena Williams. She is now notorious for the "panic room" missed test
.
I am chuffed to bits for Lizzie. She was in a class of her own. She rode away from top riders like Jo Rowsell and Laura Trott.
I thought Donegal may be in the offing.
Her boyfriend is a Donegal man. Philip Deignan, who rides for Team Sky.
No bet on Lizzie, but I have a small interest in old Tom Watson in the US Seniors Open which finishes later this evening.

No, Pigale, I dont think there is.
Odd when we have sports scientists working with sportsmen and women.
Lots of money at stake.

I'd like to mention. Pigale, that my favourite tennis players were Chris Evert and Yannick Noah.
Noah was good fun!

Just in case you don't know, from next Wednesday calls to 0800 numbers will be free on your mobile in the UK. Currently they are charged at normal network rates. That is my contribution to this thread !

I can't find it either , Rusty!
but it's a northern word - we used it to mean 'very wet' when I lived in Bolton (Lancashire)

Chris? Mamya? do either of you know the word 'poggy'?
