Porton Down are doing some research on ticks as there seem to be far more recently ,I was used to them in India but not in England,my vet says it is the warm and wet winters we have had that is causing the jump in numbers whatever it is I dont like them

True enough Doglet, our winters are not as cold as they used to/should be, and therefore a lot of pests do not get destroy - neither do bugs and virus that seem to be recurring more regularly (gastro entiritus and the like).

How long were you in India, and where about?

We lived in Assam at first but the Assamese were not happy with foreigners so we had to leave at 24hrs notice and we went to Calcutta, which I liked very much but I had dysentery and had to come home and my husband moved to Indonesia being a nomad isnt really much fun.

Hi, Rusty!
I should love to meet Lyn MacD - she must be one very interesting lady!
Have you finished your crossword? You were late with it tonight - I thought you usually did it about teatime?
I finished the Times GK Jumbo very early this morning - it wasn't much of a challenge this week.
I've started the Cryptic Jumbo now... about a third of the way through so far... been reading "1914" for most of the evening, but going to watch "Casualty" very shortly.
Next week, I shall be glued to Wimbledon - on or off the "red button"!

Hello, Elle!
She will be well into her eighties, now, I think.
Yes, finished crossword. Yes, I am a bit later doing it.
It was quite tricky. Jazzgirl thought so too, so I am in good company!
Do you want anyone in particular to win?
I would like to see Laura Robson do well, but she has had a long time out with injuries. Hope Heather Watson goes well, too. Let us hope the red button behaves!
I don't do the Jumbo any more.
I give that part of my paper to my neighbour.

Thanks for the link Jazzy - and by the way Good Evening and sorry for being rude!

Quite a man indeed; I see he had a concert in June this year, well, earlier this month in fact, that's quite something for his age.

The only parallel I can make as far as still performing at an advance age are Stephan Grapelli and of course Charles Aznavour who also wrote an incredible number of songs for himself and many other people. Not too sure how old he is now, (need to google it) but we are talking of same age bracket.

How old could Tom Jones be now ?
Great men.
