It never ceases to amaze me how posting a query can suddenly give you the answer after hours of pondering!

Reassuring to read that most of you are finding this difficult.
Only seven in so far and I seem to have ground to a halt so time for a break. I have 21d which I’m sure is right and fits with people staging the event but what about our race times?

That's needs to be split into 3 letters for "our race" and 1 for "times" - definition is " tourist trophy" (Google is your friend here)

I have to say I feel exceptionally proud of myself for finishing that!

I don't quite get 3D - "Isn't it being overlooked by second" gives you the first five letters and "Carnival man" is the definition, where do the last five letters comes from?

Oh dear, still struggling with 2D despite hints. I have crossers -R-G---- on first word and -O-T-G- on second ..... do I have that right at least? Perhaps my knowledge of/interest in British royal Family is insufficient!
