Hi everyone

I've still got three left, one of which is an antonym. They are 6d, 15ac and 25ac. One of the latter two is the antonym. I found 23d and 26d very difficult.

I simply cannot see 6d. Someone said it is an anagram, but I can't work out of what. I have ?A?E ???L?? I've possible answer meaning broadcast, but cannot parse it. If I can have a hint for this, I may be able to tackle the two across clues.

So far my CODs are 21d and 19d

Hi Roof,

6d - straight anagram.'bacu-up miles' almost - defition is "broadcast (normal clue and your letters are correct)

15a - 4 letter "boss" but nobody seems sure how the last 3 letters aere parsed (although I haven't read the whole thread) - definition is "apprentice" abnd is a normal clue

25a - 3 letter anagram/'dancing' + 4 letter "temptation" (as in 'bait') definition is is "miss" (as in a failure) but it is one of the 12 antonyms

Hi, Roof. It is indeed Broadcast, as the verb. It’s an anagram of almost all of the letters of ‘back up miles’.

Happy new year, one and all, and thanks, Brummie, for a clever crossword. I’m less than half way through despite all your help.

Sorry, typo in

6d - anagram of "back-up mile(s)" hence 'almost'

25a - Woops - in trying to give a synonym of the antonym I accidentally gave the unaltered answer.

Very sorry evryone - rest assured I will send myself to the naughty step:-(

Brendan, re 15a, “ents” is in Collins as an informal word for entertainments, so I prefer that parsing to the much longer form mentioned earlier

Many thinks Quisling, my fault, I suppose, for becoming so reliant on Chambers.

Brendan, I did add a qualifier to the effect that my "parsing" @70 was not satisfactory. ;-)
Thanks to quisling for clearing it up.

Honestly Geeker, had it not been for Quisling's update, I would have happily accepted your interpretation:-)

Well I’ve nearly finished. Can’t get 7, 8 & 12, one of which I suspect is an antonym. Hints welcome.
Very enjoyable if rather challenging
