I look forward to the Guardian Special as part of Christmas, so didn't start on it till Wednesday. After struggling, and reading once through the forum, I'm now almost halfway there, but feel a bit hard done by in that I only recognise 2 composers so far, the rest I've had to invent and then Google. And an anagram Solver, which I rarely use won't help with proper nouns. I think I'll give up now. It's an impressive show of clever compilation, but just not a pleasure to solve, for me. FOI was 1a(3). Season's Greetings to anyone still reading!

Evening all I have been persistent with this and had a few pointers from the forum.
Very tricky and mostly relied on Wikipedia for composers.
Just 2 to go
12a Clubman as Terminator and 13 a, set of organ pipes, none of my reasoning leads to a Composer
Gentle nudge welcome

12a is first name of actor who played the Terminator - 20th century British composer.
13a 8-letter word for a set of organ pipes minus three letters which could represent "first" - turn of 19th-20th century German composer.

I seem to have a problem with 7a ii ( Half of Number Ten ), now I have 7a iii. (SRST) I thought it was the composer Berte which is in the clue. But now I only have 2 consonants BR. Help please?

krauton, 3dii is the composer Messanet anagrammed. Which I thought was a nice reversal touch.
