Well, completed this in total ignorance of the theme elements. Thanks to those more au fait than I am with popular culture. And once again, one has to look on in admiration at how cleverly Hamish has worked in the Nina and other allusions.

Well, I did finish it, with the help of the Nina in the NE. I don't like his style of clueing, but I will forgive it for 13a.

Does the Nina continue along the bottom and the left? I can't make sense of it.
