Like others after a slow start I've surprised myself by finishing. The theme definitely helps. I'm not sure how 13a parses and like Chrise I think 19a is a bit clunky. But I enjoy how Kite disguises the meanings in some clues especially the themed ones.

FOI was 18d. LOI 6d.

COD probably 5d because it makes me laugh.

13a sounds (a bit, though the stress would be different) like 3,4, though the answer isn't slelled like that

I still don’t get the parsing of 13a. First three letters knowledge - got that, last four letters “might reportedly spin”?????

see my earlier post. it's not the last 4 letters, but the last 3 in the sounds like.

Hi everybody

We're going out tonight so I tried to start early, but I'm not finding it easy and only have a few filled in. I've no idea what the theme is, though it is my sister's birthday today. I'm not sure which way round 19ac goes as I haven't got either of the down crossers.

Perhaps I can have a hint for 15d to get me going.

I think I might have to give up not only this crossword but every week as I've been finding them very hard lately, which I think is down to a deterioration in my brain!
