There’s a nod to the theme in today’s Guardian Weekend crossword, which was what made me realise that there must be an anniversarial element to it.

Could anyone help me parse the inside bit of 3d please. I don't see it.

Also my wedding anniversary btw. Though I don't think they'll be theming a crossword around that any time soon.

Top filled in quickly, but bottom dragging.

Can I just check - is the second transport in 19a not a "main" one? It seems a little unfair if that's the case.

Two solutions were unfamiliar words. Got them via parsing and crossers but then needed dictionary/Google to verify.

Hi Rocky,

3d - 1 letter abbr. for "kip" (not in Chambers) then 3 letter "arm's length" (an old measurement)

23d - assuming the middle 4 letters are "count", how do the outer 2 letters come from "around"?

.... unless "around" is split - if so, very clever:-)

Hi Brendan. I assume it is a round.

That's how I saw it, brendan

Finished, with the theme helping for 14a and 22d. Never heard of 19d, and I think 19a is flawed.

Favourite 26a.

Thanks Chris.

I don't see a problem with 19a - when the "main" transporter 'reverses', you get another one.
