Cannot parse 35 or 38, though I’m sure my answers must be correct. I must have at least one error in the compass points, yet all six look rock solid, because the lines would produce only four pieces and the final one wouldn’t hit another line. I have the film and the actors, I think, although how they will come out is still unclear.

As one or two others have already, I've reached an impasse. I had a full grid last night, I had all 12 misprints, I knew the film and could see 'elements' of the two actors in the grid. BUT, I've been struggling all of today with the compass points. I've been back painstakingly looking at every clue, double checking that I haven't made a mistake but something's still wrong. I don't want to give any spoilers so I'll use the same terminology that was used earlier in this thread. My compass points are intercardinal, cardinal, intercardinal, intercardinal, cardinal, intercardinal and all of the seem to parse correctly. However, my last pair (which occur very close together) is an impossibility so I know that one (or both) is wrong but I just can't see why. I suspect the 5th one.

I don't know if anyone can untangle that lot please without giving the game away? Thanks

Hi candlestick. My third could be either as both parse perfectly. I plumped for inter purely based on an earlier comment in this thread. A bit worrying that our last 3 don't match at all. Hmm....? sound of head-scratching

I think my third can parse as a normal clue also, therefore I am missing one somewhere (which you have got as an intercardinal). I think you are missing the final one.

I currently only have 5 of the 6 compass points, and am confused as to how the final cut and reassemble step will work if any pairs of compass points join cardinal to intercardinal. Surely these will be diagonal cuts passing through letters. Is anyone else concerned by this?!

… and I meant to add that I have been hoping that this should give us a hint! ie if one has a definite nailed-on cardinal start point, then the end point must also be cardinal, etc

Note sure that follows necessarily. So long as the letters required for the endgame remain intact then I've assumed it wouldn't matter. Worryingly, I've now got a 7th (!) compass point based on exchange with candlestick and also I've just realised that I'm missing a key letter which will be required in the endgame. And it was going SO well last night!
