bobbycollins - that’s not what the preamble says

Down clues interrupt acrosses and acrosses interrupt downs...no difference in the entry logic. The only difference between acrosses and downs is the clue order.

Spot on buzzb. I now realise that I completed the puzzle after not having properly read the preamble, hence my hesitation to explain the method of entry for down clues!

I struggled to solve the monkeys clue before I realised I didn't have it in the right column! Thanks for the help.

Please can someone tell me what the BRB is that you mention when doing the Listener crosswords?

I am completely stuck on 9a. I am assuming it is an anagram but cannot find a solution. As no one else has mentioned this clue, I am feeling a bit dim! Any help welcome - it would be a very useful clue to solve.

I have struggled with this one all week and buzzb's post may convince me to continue. It was not clear (to me) from the preamble that down clues as well as across could be interrupted. Given that could I ask if all across and down answers appear with their letters in order (i.e. answer could go in as anxxswer but not swerxxans?).

Mrs Seal has switched on the weather forecast and of you have been bathing in sunshine - the east coast in still murky grey. So I don't mind asking for help.
