Gitto, nominative determinism at its finest!

Thanks to Norah for advising that answers MAY be given (sparingly) on this thread. I shall now be very wary of consulting it until I have finished.

ss (post 61) - Love it😊😊😊😊 Gitto was the name I used when I was the baddy in Warcraft - someone had already used a shorter version.

I disagree with you on a couple of points, bobbycollins - I do want the thread, very occasionally, to give answers if/when the same question is repeated and hints haven't helped. As for the title, 'Answers Only' this keeps the thread uncluttered and businesslike (introspection and opinion is what the other thread is for, I think).

The preamble to this puzzle could have been clearer/more helpful and that would have removed much of its difficulty. I'm sure I'm not the only solver to quickly finish it and then go back to work out how the preamble had 'helped' me get there (apologies for this little digression).

I have found pretty well all the "associated references" to each of the group members but I'm blowed if I can spot more than one "other" member (at 7dn). It doesn't actually matter but it would be pleasing to find the other "other" .

I guess the subject of the mourning of 39A…

Coukd do with help parsing 33d and would also welcome advice on whether we enter the thematic location properly or in its original state

I think it is an anagram of (stayed +v -s)

LH - I have entered the thematic location rather than leaving the original entries. Agree the preamble is ambiguous - it tells you what can be done but not specifically to do it - but it does form part of the 91 cells so it makes sense to make the change.
