Daw, my entry for 19 A is confirmed by Chambers and is definitely 4 letters. It's not a plural, it's a thing in itself.

The word suggested for 19A is a very old, if not foreign, word for plough. I still feel that that this the acronym. 14A is certainly not an acronym.

I'm still unhappy about 18A being part of the face.

Kirky I think your ‘e’ is wrong.

First half: a theme word. Second half: anagram, definition consists of 4 words.

Can't see why people are having such trouble with 19 - it's a syndrome that comes up with google. 14 is a proper word if you spell the Japanese art right (which I didn't to start with ...)

Chambers defines acronym as "a word formed from or based on initial letters or syllables of other words ..." therefore might not 13a be the referred to acronym?

Following your tips, I now have a completed grid. It doesn’t affect the solution, but the choice of acronym is between 13 and 19; because 19 is also a noun, I would go for 13.

Hi I have now completed this apart from 23 across and 25 down - can anyone point me the right direction - any help much appreciated

I should have added that I think I have the answer for 23 across but I can't fully parse it - I don't see the "made fresh" bit
