I have it all, except for 11 ... but one or two parsings still unclear - 16,17,18. Clever work from Puck - especially 8.

would love to trade: help with 16 in exchange for help with 11?

aah ... I had 16 and both 18s wrong - they are much cleverer than I thought. Also 11. Not entirely sure where the long-tailed lark fits in though ...

hi subtly - I have 11 now. 16 in full is an actress, once 8'd, leaving a (fairly obscure) term for the last six words. The start is spelt out in column 1, coincidentally.

sorry - I read you wrong. 11 is an American word for picnic I dimly remember from my time there. When 8'd, it leaves a word for set (verb)

Finding this tricky. As a Devonian 8d went in readily but I’ve now ground to a halt.
Any hints for 7/25, 18a/d, 11 or 16 might get me going again.

jono: 16 see above #4. 18d - def is an old sailor's term for port (not as in harbour); wordplay - common word for fat around a (male) second part of 8. 7/25 - I think the second part is a theme-word and the first is a bird, but I haven't deciphered the lark bit, though if I'm right the whole thing is a kind of jerky movement.
