Same here. Got enough of the unjumbles to decode the source then off to Wikipedia. One parsing problem left in 19d. Can explain the 1st letter and the last 2 but is the rest really a famous Hungarian photojournalist?

Thanks Buddy. He’s a new one on me I’m afraid. Still I managed to avoid looking here until I’d completed the puzzle, which is progress.

Great puzzle which I've finally completed having made liberal use of hints here. I still have 2 queries.

16a seems to require 'k' to mean 250, or am I misparsing? I've never come across that before.

And 10d, should I just understand 'about' to be a general anagram indicator?

Chambers gives K="(as a medieval Roman numeral) 250"

yes, about = "In motion or activity, on the go"

Thanks. This forum is an education (if only that I really should invest in my own copy of Chambers).

Neophyte, my hat is well and truly off to you for managing this level of puzzle without the BRB! Wordplays often use large chunks of Chambers entries verbatim and can be a clincher when resolving doubts.

All done, but can't see the relevance of Hawkeye in 13 across?
