How do we determine the order of the last 4 letters of 35a?
Please give me the first letter to 30d - Is the definition the first word of the clue?

30d is double definition.

Re 35A, two of them are checked and the unchecked ones are the same letter

thanks again. I suspected the unchecked letters were the same but that left me a nasty 5 point Scrabble letter in 30D.
I have ?TKS and I must be wrong. Grr.

Really struggling with this! Almost filled grid. Need help with 14d, 29a and 28d. Please send help!

14 down old prime minister (1830-34) + H(ospital) + 5-letter word for broadcast

28 down H(ot) + colloquial word for food reversed to give general word for a Scottish town

29 across Second word of clue with I for the first E, then reverse the middle three letters (I think)

Am I right in believing that the "head or foot" just means the first or last letter of the character appears at the asterisk wherever there's a description of a scene?
