Oh, just saw it. Thematic and tacky.

The ones that had the thematic letters inserted twice were tricky. Took me awhile to get 1d also.

Just one I can't parse: 5d. I get the h for held first and ut for note of scale, so where does the a come from and what is the extra letter?

If you google all 4 together you should find another commonality. Look at the noun meanings of your first word from the message.

Yeah Buddy, as I said I know what it all means, including the "commonality" to which you refer, but I was trying to avoid saying that they are the names of B_ _ B _ _ S, by making an alternative allusion.

My main query was about what the final grid should represent.

A radar screen image showing nothing identifiable as a B--B-- because of all the "TEASE" that is being scattered.
