One clue I'm not happy with is 5A. Surely it should be Nova Scotia not Maine?

Just got it! "cut in Maine".

It's in Chambers, Unclued, last definition.

Can anyone help with the parsing of 5a - I know it's one of the 4 so the wordplay is normal but I can't see it.

I can't believe I didn't see 5a Loge, Chen virtually wrote the answer in the clue - honestly, I don't know what's wrong with me lately:-)

It took me a while to see it too, Brendan. Chen has cleverly hidden over half the answer in plain sight and yes, (s)he had me looking up the state capital of Maine and wondering why Augusta didn't fit the crossing letters!

All done but it took me a while to parse 14d 'Stale beer'. I thought 'Used beer' would have been better but delving in Chambers eventually got me there!
