Ok, I'm totally confused - I thought we were talking about the intersection of the "go round..." clue with the last clue - which is in the 2nd column in the 7th cell from the top and bottom.

Sorry Abicoop, I thought you were referring to a clue - yes, the goat one:-)

Sorry I wasn't precise. I meant the second cell from the top of the clue. The clash indeed is in the middle row of the grid.

Sorry, was trying to check if I had it right without giving it all away!
With my current state of confusion (and what I seem to be causing in everyone else!) I might just start writing the actual words.
I at least have 2 of the 12 now.

Ah, thanks mathprofrockstar! That's that one sorted now anyway - 10 to go.

I think I might be missing something in the end game. I take it that as the puzzle can be completed by anybody anywhere at any time from now onwards “my own location” must be pretty large scale and not dependent on the time of year.
I have chosen one of the many cells with a suitable letter which is nicely placed and seems to be “labelled” by neighbouring cells.
However most images of the theme on line show this location accupied by a bigger, less hospitable location that would be represented by a different letter.
Have I missed something?

I just highlighted the central cell but I am not convinced I am right. It is hard to find confirmation online.

......on second thoughts perhaps the highlight should be three squares to the left of centre bearing in mind the date range.

I went for the central square too, Unclued. I don't follow your reasoning for the other square - three squares to the left of the central square contains the same letter, right?

Same letter yes but I was trying to match up the position of that letter to where we are in the year but I now realise that I am about a month out! I originally thought something very hot would go in the central cell and not us!
