Apparently “lists“ can mean “ends” hence PE. It is in Chambers.

Very apt that gem94 should identify birthstones. So, I now have to identify a list-mate for Prover by finding an 8 letter colleague for it, which is 4/5 places away from it in the pecking order?

Add two letters to your candidate known/existing set entry. It’s definitely four added.

At last! Finally managed to complete this monster of a crossword - all bar the replacement word. I've highlighted the 15 cells, so can see the original word and the number of steps to move, but, other than the 'Book of .......', I can't think where to look? It's frustrating to have finally got so far only to come up short now, so any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Malone, I'll switch to the other thread because I've searched Google and it just gives the Hebrew Bible which only has three books so I'm afraid I'll need much bigger hint.
