I often forget that some people get Listener on a Friday evening. There's been some discussion already... but maybe this thread can be the one that might give answers and bits and pieces of information?

I'm not totally sure about "zigzag". Is it literally L/R, then down, then L/R etc?

If so, I have some problems:

I've got the two solutions for 31 ( as well as 30), so they must both go right, then down. One must eventually go through Square 42, but neither of them fit.

The solutions for 45,46 are suspiciously similar, but presumably aren't superimposed. Putting them in gives me trouble with 37 - help, please.

Hi Dylan - I could be wrong but have 45 and 46 superimposed. I have 37 going right 3, down one then right 3 if you get my drift.

I agree with you, s_pugh, but I can't justify the wordplay for DRESS. Can you?

I figured it as D(R)ESS - half of desserts (such as gooseberry fools).

I don't suppose you have a hint for 22? I'm completely lost with that one!

Thanks. I knew the R was missing so I should have got it. I have 25 which is opposite 22 but I can't help with 22 yet.

Apologies Dylan, forgot the symmetry thing. 37 I think is actually right 3 then down 4. It's getting hard to follow with so many non-words!

22 is one of the partly symbolic answers (the other being 2).
In full it would be ??????? ?????? (growth seen on trees).

Please can someone help with either 4 or 5?
