To be clear, I mean the definition doesn't work for me. Richmond's stiffs? I've looked through all Chambers entries for OFF as a verb and noun and nowhere can I find a meaning like stiff.

12a. (r)over; both definitions in Chambers.
As is "to murder" under stiff.
