Casanova, there's more - but only very slightly more - on the left-hand side.

Thank you Malone. I’ll go on looking at it.

What a difference a Bank holiday makes, largely triggered by the help available here. From total bewilderment to sort of finished - minor details like only having 18 omitted letters but still being able to trace the name of the work, and wondering how to scale the last instruction. I get the picture, so to speak, but I dread to think what my artistic effort would look like. Thanks to all as ever.

The scaling of the last instruction bothered me for a while too. Taken literally the instruction will permit circles of any size around the dot.
The artwork though gives the answer. The circle should cut the bottom of the grid at its centre and meet both the left and right top corners of the grid. This takes the final circle outside the usual section of the page that we are requested to include in our submissions.
For this reason I have decided to submit the whole page rather than the usual cut out grid.

That must be why there’s a big gap between the title line and the grid.

All done, although it looks like my 2 year old grandson did the sketch. Extremely difficult puzzle, with some very vague definitions and word play. Can anyone explain the word play to Ian’s attention? It can only be one answer because of the missing letter, but I don’t understand it at all.

Attention is not the ear you might expect but another part of the head, so Scottish word for that part, after (touching) common two letters for on, with the missing letter inserted.

Really hard going, but worth it in the end. Dysart was never this tricky before. I'm done, except artwork, but I can't parse "Some disgusting …" and would value help (I'm assuming it's -IST).

I was looking in the wrong place for the hidden word. Easy when you work out what it's GOT to be! Posted too soon as usual.

It's caught a few out, me included. The definition is just 'substance' and it's a simple hidden clue with 'i' as the extra letter. I predict a groan.
